Sometimes all it takes is being out of commission for a few weeks with an illness in the active growing part of the year and the lawn can rapidly exceed what some homeowner mowers can handle. I've been there, and I had to rent a small 23 horsepower farm tractor with a mid-PTO mower deck to get it back down to where my Snapper riding mower could get back to use. edit: In my case, it was nearly two month, about 1/2 hospitalization and half recouperation. By the time I could get back at the lawn, it was 2-3 feet tall.

From experience, it is pretty easy to avoid that happening, if you know a few tricks. When you mow, sweep or blow the clippings off paved areas. Do the same for leaves in the fall, seed pods in the spring, and so on. And maybe once or twice a year, you might need to neaten it up with your string trimmer.

Hi SB Mowing, my name is Sean. Love your content. This hill you have to attack , it is possible to do it easier. I grew up in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. In town is Fort Anne. The grounds are all steep hills cut by the french to protect the fort. To mow the steep hills, the grounds crew simply took a 21" push mower, removed the handles , and attached rope to the handle body mounts. Then they stand at top of hill, and let the mower ride down the hill, then pull it back up with the attached rope. It works really well, check out pics of Fort Anne online for yourself, and see the excellent work they do. Keep doing what your doing, it is heartwarming, ( to say the least ); to see your commitment to kindeness and civic pride.

Odd how most of these overgrown properties seem to be corner lots. You always seem to rise to the challenge making the community safer and cleaner one property at a time. Of course those clean lines at the end are the cherry on top, that really make the entire property shine. Looking back at your recent visit and teaming up with Al Bladez, maybe he can come out and hook up with you on your turf. You and Al worked so well together I’d say 2 of a kind and both very generous in all that you do.

Lawn care was important to my dad & he took it seriously! I think it was from him growing up very poor in the cement jungle that is Manhattan, then moving to Florida where he had a massive lawn to care for was rewarding to him. He used to let me mow the grass as a young kid on his riding mower, I was only 9! My older brother started doing lawns in the neighborhood that led him into having a lawn care company. I ended up developing a major allergy to grass as a young adult (now I have severe photophobia with uv sensitive lupus) & can no longer be around lawn care. Getting to watch you do your methodical lawn care is very soothing to me! It reminds me of how I used to watch my dad do our lawn every Sunday. I’m so glad I found your videos, it’s kinda like getting a part of my childhood & my dad back in my life! Just wanted to add that the guys who do the lawns at my condo are awful 😡 I call them lawn care terrorists! They really have no love for the grass, bushes & flowering plants here 😒

Good job. My personal opinion is that it's never complete without the excess grass removed. People love to say mulched, but it just doesn't look nice. Hopefully, the homeowner will get out there and rake and take down some of those tree limbs that need to be done. Beautiful homes in the area and this one is also. I am sure the neighbors appreciate your hard work. ❤

Another tuber called Tim the Lawnmower Man who lives in Australia does the finer detail spot on.
@bigragu6828
@bigragu6828 5 месяцев назад
Tim also paints a brown lawn with green paint. He also bags the clippings. Australian grass seems a lot more hay like tho. Maybe a couple more passes with the mower to even out the clumps, but those will become nutrient rich mulch for the lawn. Just like plug aerating a lawn, it looks like goose crap everywhere, but within a week, it’s all gone.

There was a video when Spencer bagged all the clippings. He brought them to a compost site. His only regret was that he used trash bags and had to cut them all open and take the trash with him.

Hello Spencer, I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you slipped down the slope. OMG!! I've never seen so many corners that you had to edge and what a brilliant job you did with this garden. I love your edging you do it so well and everything looks uniform. The garden looked beautiful when you finished. Well done on another excellent video. Lots of love to you and your wife.

It's stunning to see your before & after photos. The sidewalks are 2 feet wider because of your diligence and hard work. The property now has curbs that were completely invisible before. Your curb & sidewalk work is always my favorite part of your videos because you make it look easy & its always flawless when complete. The home owner must have been thrilled with your work & no doubt he is motivated to trim up trees & shrubs & remove the debris from his property. I know I would be motivated to do so. I love your work & every one of your videos. Your cheerful, fun & inspiring. Thank you for all you do!❤

Realtors ought to warn potential property owners that corner lots mean, generally, there are three sides to maintain. I watch a numbers of the 'Mowing' videos and more often than not, the problem sites are corner lots. Owners owe it to themselves & community to keep their gardens neat. .

@thinkingoutloud6741

As was said, so long as it’s not an excessive amount. For so many of these videos, the grass length IS excessive. That’s the whole point of the video… selecting lawns “in need “. Mulching is fine if you cut regularly. In these videos, it’s cool that he goes back over the lawn more than once. It “helps”, but there are large, thick clumps of cuttings in too many places. Those clumps do the damage… the remaining grass underneath can’t get any sunlight. I’m one that understands and still would like to see the clipping collected for most houses.

Grass clippings, mulched as he does it , add nutrients back into the grass and soil. A good rain will settle the clippings into the soil.

I’m not aware of this owners health or whether he owns a lawn mower, but he should at least try to groom his yard. He’s not old and looks physically fit. Some people - I guess just don’t care how their property looks. Thank you Spencer for giving this corner property a smile once again. From Illinois - hi. 👋 😊
