So glad Jay that you were led to the foundation of truth, God is love. It's not an aspect of His character, it is who He is and how His creation functions. The courage of your authenticity born out of the desire to help others avoid some of the devastating pain, for me, is evidence of the Spirit. May you continue to flourish in the knowledge of His love.

I desire as a believer to follow Christ in loving. Everyone is a sinner, no one is more or less a sinner than anyone else. The word tells us, Isaiah 56:6-7 6 ¶ “And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD, and to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant 7 these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”

At 50:29, where you said there were many things where the Bible is clear but seemed to shift due to cultural differences. I would like to know what’s on that list of changes where you think things shifted?

Telling someone to surrender their sins is NOT emotional or spiritual abuse. That is such a victim mentality and a pride issue. He admitted that the people who tried to tell him that were kind and compassionate people who just wanted to support him so how is that abuse?? I was suicidal when I was trying to stop drinking or some of the other burdens I was carrying with me so I understand the feeling of darkness all around me but blaming other people for that doesn’t help. Im willing to bet you probably think all of Paul’s letters are emotional and spiritual abuse too
