#thelifeandsadending #klaatu A mini bio about the life and career of actor Michael Rennie. He most famously appeared in the movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'.
The Day The Earth Stood Still will always be my favorite science fiction movie. Michael Rennie was born to play Klaatu in that movie, can't imagine anyone else in that role. I enjoyed watching him in any role he played, movies and television. I admit I always found him to be one very tall handsome man and he had beautiful blue eyes. He may be gone but he has never been forgotten. His fans still love and remember him.
My mom, when she was young girl had a crush on Michael Rennie. The Day the Earth Stood Still is my favorite science fiction movie. I remember his guest appearances on TV shows such as The FBI, Lost in Space, Bonanza, Wagon Train, I Spy, Man from U.N.C.L.E., Sir Alfred Hitchcock Presents etc. He did a TV show titled The Third Man as private eye Harry Lime. Other movies include Hotel, Devil's Brigade, The Robe, Third Man From the Mountain.
@joycampi7233 tall, dark, and handsome. I remember watching The Day the Earth Stood Still on TV. Saw it on Creature Features on KTVU back in the day. He did a TV show titled The Third Man as private eye Harry Lime. Other movies include Hotel, Devil's Brigade, The Robe, Demetrius & The Gladiators, Cyborg 2087, and other films. He passed away on Thursday, June 10th, 1971, while visiting his native England 🇬🇧. His obituary was published on Friday, June 11th, 1971, in many newspapers in the United States 🇺🇸 and Canada.
He joined the RAF (Royal Air Force) and served in the war for Great Britan, but trained as a fighter pilot in the US according to the Arnold Plan (an agreement between Uk and US regarding special training.
👽🛸My father had THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL at home. It was a nice b&w movie that captured the hysteria people had from what they don't understand. The final scene had a good message and I liked how THE END came at the screen like the Viacom V-of-Doom logo as the spaceship went the opposite direction. Stay safe and thanks for uploading this video:)👽🛸
Remember watching “ The Day the Earth Stood Still “ thinking this movie was ahead of it’s time , the Spaceship & the Robot . Michael Rennie was perfect for that part ! Would definitely 💯 watch it again . 😊
What an interesting background there! Quite vintage...nice idea as a surprise change! Michael Rennie was such a 'terribly handsome' man. Everything about his features was perfect, his voice, the delivery of his acting style...so perfect in all his roles.Thank you for giving homage to this wonderful actor, who died so young.
Wow! I almost forgot about him. 😮 Another actor who did all the TV 📺 shows of the day. And many great films 🎥 The Day the Earth Stood Still, was a great movie. Thanks 😊 as always, Steve.
I watch The Day the Earth Stood Still every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas when I'm wrapping Christmas presents. It's a tradition, I guess. Also watch The Time Machine and Forbidden Planet. Total CLASSICS!
That Lost In Space episode was my favorite! A quick story, I was a young boy when this aired & my neighbor could make all sorts of things & he made a pole with a light bulb on top for me! Now I had several big brothers who beat me up often so when I received my stick with the light bulb I tried it on one of my brothers & he beat me up again!! I really thought that the stick with the bulb on top that my friend made had special powers!!🤣🤣🤣
Wow only 61, I assumed he was much older. His appearances in The Day the Earth stood Still, Lost in Space and the Robe will always stand out for me. Thanks for your content Stave!
I really liked his Performances I'm like everyone else. Love the sci fi movie And intriguing to think of that other actor playing that role. If He would have been as good.He was such a great actor . Very memorable role with the invisible man.

Undisclosed location?? Why not mention, where you're at?? Michael Rennie was good in 1953's 'Dangerous Crossing', with Jeanne Craig. Canadian region, mid-Atlantic?? I'd say, that's Northern Atlantic. I saw an exerpt of 'The Day The Earth Stood Still'. Would LOVE TO SEE that, in color☺️👍!!!
The Day The Earth Stood Still is a favorite of mine. Early sci-fi, without all the crazy special effects. You know, they should do a remake of the original, with all of those special effects. And get someone like, I don’t know, Keanu Reeves, to play the lead role. Whadaya think? 😮
