Exactly like my cat expect with shots but we needed to pin him to down for him to stop moving but after a while once he saw the needle he would stay still for us to do it, he notice it was helping him. Cats are smart
The only two cats I've had who cooperated with taking pills were *very* food motivated. It was "take the pill, you get a treat, but no pill no treat, buster."
Them lil mfers are way smarter than you think😂 cats have been shown to understand around 90 something words. My cat absolutely knows what the word treat mans😂😂😂😂
@@rosetyong exactly, meaning cats can corelate things with sounds (words) and do it with around 90 different things + sounds. They're smart, I don't know as many words in Japanese as the cats know sounds from another species entirely
I don't think it's the trust and love alone. We f.e. have adopted a 12 years old cat, who also needs meds and from the first day on, she took pills take easy and allowed every medical treatment from us. Now, she trusts us, of course, but back than we were kinda totally strangers to her. So, I don't know, maybe she was just good trained??
Yeah its amazing, I know cause mine is like that too❤ Even at the vet she let them take blod and so on with No miav or anytjing as long as she can hide her head at me. ❤
That's awesome y'all know how lucky you are.... because let me just tell you, it's impossible with most cats without getting scratches & strong arming them after trying for 5 minutes.... every time Even the vet has lots of trouble.
I wish my cat was that good for meds. He was just on antibiotics the size of a grain of rice and he spit them up even with pill pockets and squeeze treats
Honestly get him. The pills taste extremely bitter and the taste gets on everything. I ended up filling pill caps with the crushed pills for my cats when they needed :X
It’s called a surefeed. Most versions have a micro chip/rfid that matches to a collar, so that the correct kitty gets the correct food amount for them.
Lol yesss that's what I came to the comments for immediately, haven't even seen the full video but I was like aweeee cause I ask my cat if I can bother him, he'll meow at me, and then I'll pick him up or whatnot lol, I think it's really cute and haven't heard anyone else do it before lol
It just naturally happens when you have to bother your cat in ways they obviously don't enjoy much. I have to give my cat insulin injections. She's usually cooperative but I feel like a villain when she's against it.
Her relationship with him is amazing. It is completely based on trust. He doesn’t like it, but is okay because she is his human. Love this. Edit: thanks for the 100 likes!
@@ldristtwell... we never really heal from it. Best we can do is avoid extended exposure from things that trigger asthma. Luckily for me its only seasonal when plants pump out a lot of pollens in the air. Other than that I can do marathons without taking my meds for a month or so.
Incidentally "oblivious and hungry" is a state of existence I also often find myself in...and then life also makes me swallow bitter pills out of nowhere sometimes.
I think at a certain point they get it. You're trying to help them. And when they feel better after you forced them to do whatever it was that sucked, they get it. You're here to help. ❤
he's the best boy. My cat recently got diagnosed with a heart condition and i have to take his blood pressure every morning. a tiny cuff that goes around the base of his tail. He sits so good, so still, doesn't even twitch his tail. He's such a good boy. I think it helps that he knows he gets treats after, lol
@@raidermaxx2324 does a thing need a soul to be treated decently? they still feel pain, they still hurt and can suffer. seems to me that people who treat innocent creatures badly just because they don't have a "soul" are the ones that a truly soulless
Me too! I'm asthmatic and so it's my daughter but never thought an animal could become asthmatic.. Poor furbaby! That's a horrible disease... My daughter and I have ended up in the hospital due to asthma attacks. Is really scary I can imagine for a Kitty it will be too.
I had a cat as a kid and his nose was always white and he would wheeze a little. I had terrible asthma and told my mom the cat needed my inhaler. We took a red solo cup and cut the bottom out to make a spacer for him. He HATED it the first time, but suddenly he could breath, had a pink nose and was sprinting all around. He never fussed about his inhaler puffs again! I'm super glad to see pets getting better diagnosed for issues nowadays, as I grew up when most people still believed cats/dogs/etc couldn't feel pain or didnt have souls.
I LOOOVVVVEEE those cat dishes with moving lids to protect the food from flies and probly helps keep it a bit fresher longer. You adore your cats and ily for that💚
🍽️😸 I do too! I wonder what they’re called and how much they cost as I was considering investing in one for my elder feline furbabies that are 19, 20 and 22 years old ❤️🧡💛
@@BrokenInBeautythey're called microchip activated cat feeders. one of the big brands is surefeed. rachel and jun have a video about theirs and was the tipping point for my family investing in one. our older cat has ibs and both cat's bowls have to use one of these so he doesn't get sick. works great. they will also come with a tag to put on the collar if your cat isn't chipped
They are SureFeed Microchip feeder. They are amazing at keeping out other greedy cats who don't know their fill line. They can be programmed for either a collar or the cat's actual microchip. An expensive item, but worth it!
He's a good patient!.. My cats were never that cooperative with medications?!...He doesn't need liquids to swallow it down? I had to wrap my cat in a towel to get her ear meds down!-
As a cat mom who also has to give my cat some extensive meds I love that you shared this and showed how lovingly and gently you give your kitty his meds. Melts my heart to see other cat parents willing to do anything for their babies ♥️
@bonnieb8084 yea, which is connected to the ventilator. I have extremely bad asthma I had to use the same as a child. i hated it because it felt like it made it even harder to breathe rather than just using the inhaler itself AND if you breathed in too quickly it squeaks loud. 😅 but obviously animals can't really inhale the medicine into their mouths so she's gotta use that.
You're such an amazing cat mommy 🥰 you can tell they absolutely love you with all of their little hearts, they're very trusting with you!! You give off such a calm and loving vibe, I love coming across your videos! You guys are all just adorable 🥰✌️❤️
Omg you are amazing ive had to give my animals or cats medicine and it is NOT EASY. Your a pro and the cat is so chill and talks back love your relationship. What a good mom.
That is literally one of the calmest cats I’ve ever seen! Amazing seeing how you take care of him and handle him so gently! He was incredibly calm with that inhaler 😮
He is so precious, omg, and his VOICE😭 I’ll have to keep your technique in mind the next time either of my kitties need medicine (thankfully they don’t need it regularly, though ofc that would make giving it to them easier ‘cause they’d be used to it…)!
There's a part of me that is "I would never be willing to do this" but there's another part that's like "Honestly, I'd do about anything for my kitty" so, yeah, lol
i'm assuming she's done this since he was a kitten or at least a very young cat so he's probably just used to it at this point since it's a daily routine.
I just lost my Prince Charming after treating him for HCM for 7 years. (He made it to 12 yrs old) I'm devastated and lost now. 💔 I'll miss our medicine routine like this. You're a wonderful cat mom.
