Personally, I forgave Antoine after i saw him run all 90 mins against a third division team in Copa del Rey right before the world cup. We were 0-2 up maybe and he was still running like it was a champions league final. He had 0 need to put all that effort and risk his health for the world cup yet he still put his all in that pitch for 90 mins. I saw how much he actually cared for the badge and how much work he has done to earn our love again. Very glad to have him back.
I think the problem is he only returned because of the Barça collapse. I'm sure he genuinely regrets going, but only because his time over there didn't pan out
@@hankagura5355 Thats why in Griezmann’s 3 years at barça he only won a Copa del Rey? He wanted to leave your tinpot of a club so bad he was willing to play only 30 mins per game to help us scam you out of €100m.
@@santiagogarza8121 Grizemann was not appreciated at Barca and poorly managed. We can see at Atletico and also France what happens when he plays under a manager who cherishes his talent.
I absolutely loved him in the 2022 World Cup. A midfield maestro that kept the team together even when the going got tough. While Mbappé grabbed the headlines, he did amazing in his own right
Greizmann was almost a ballon dor winner in 2016 if he knew how to score a penalty. Him coming back and doing this is not surprising he gives everything for this team.
Only thing holding him back was not winning the UCL and Euros. He was probably up there for the best players in the world but FIfa don't rate you if you don't win anything
Griezmann and atletico are made in heaven for each other , He always said it was his home and where he belonged and Barca never needed him and he never even played his fruitful position , His work ethic and self-lessness makes him an elite player, One of the best of this decade for sure
My favorite player of all time. I’m so happy to see him thriving again. Watching him play is just such a privilege with how beautifully he plays. This man alone is carrying atlético on his shoulders. Credit to the rest of the team ofc but without griezmann they’re different and not in a good way tbh
Frankly, he should be a Ballon d'Or candidate. The way he shifted to being a defensive machine during the World Cup after being the scoring star for France previously is truly remarkable. BTW, Adrian looks like a God-figure sitting on his throne with the fern beside him and that refracted rainbow shining on the wall behind him.
He’s always been one of my favorite strikers. Great link up play, finishing, pressing, work rate, passing etc. Complete striker other than his physicality
15 goals and 14 assists in La Liga, 16 goals, 16 assists in all competitions. What a player. His transfer made me despise him for 2/3 yrs, but his return and performance against Liverpool in the CL made me feel like the old Griezmann could come back, and come back he has. I hope we can take advantage of his best years and win some titles hopefully with some key signings this summer and most definitely a pure 9 we can do just that.
Antoine Griezmann is one of the most underrated players in the world. When we talk about top class players his name is rarely brought up and is that because of a failed stint at Barcelona. He was never a good fit for them because he was a center forward/CAM but was forced to play out wide which wasn't his best fit and as a result, different managers couldn't fit him in the Barcelona side. He's been excellent across his 2 stints at Atletico Madrid and for the France national team has put up some brilliant performances. This season, he's looked rejuvenated and he's thriving at the role he had in his first stint, which was being the main man. It's great to see Antoine Griezmann back to his best and playing with confidence again for club and country after a difficult period at Barcelona.
I'm so happy for mon amour. Barça ruined him but he is definitely back! Love seeing how he matured as a player, especially for France. With or without the captaincy (which I still believe he deserves) he has shown great leadership, an all new "creativeness" in their team play and just that joy again in playing ball which he lost for a while. Truly proud of his renaissance. 💙
I never hated him even after he left us tbh. He always gave his all on the pitch and not just in attack, even defensively he is always there, always ready to do whatever cholo asks him to. The fact that he stayed for another year to help Atleti in a year when we couldn't bring in new players cemented his place in my heart, i can never hate him after that. I am so happy to see him back to his bes, hopefully we can pair him up with a prolific number 9 next season.
He was never a "Flop" and he just couldn't ever be one. He is the best player we've seen alongside Neymar who can really compete with the prime of Cristiano and Messi. The Ballon d'Or in 2018 was for Cristiano, but the second most worthy was Griezmann, who deserved it way more than Modric. And if he is considered a "Flop" for his first season at Barcelona, than what should Messi be considered for his first season at PSG? "The biggest Flop ever"? First seasons in a new team are hard for 99% of players. Griezmann never had the marketing that other top players have because that is financed by their club and Atleti don't have the power to compete with other big clubs. The only reason Modric won Ballon d'Or in 2018 was because of RMadrid's influence power. And I believe Griezmann after doing almost three years (2016, 2017 and 2018) at Messi's level or even better at times, he thought he could be the next Barcelona star and be able to win a Ballon d'Or because Barcelona has also this influencial power that Real Madrid has. But things didn't work for him as good. That's all. But he was never a "Flop". And also you see him outperforming Mbappé in almost every single France's match and yet people still saying Mbappé is much better. The influencial power of the big teams is just too much. People will believe what they are told.
The fact that he was deployed at LW in Barcelona instead of number 10 or advanced 8 shows you just how lacking the managerial quality in Barca has been as of late
Barca taransfer was managed by bartomeu. His signings were not to make barca better but to win election. He wanted to show socios of barca that he can make monster signing. Now barca are suffering the consequences with debt.
As a barca fan I want the best for grieze. I hope he wins the league next year being the best player. He is one of my most favourite player in the world. Even at barca I wouldn't say he did bad he was just below his level because of our playstyle
Barcelona have blood on their hands for this one. Why sign someone to then mis use him for years. He’s always been this good, he’s a world class footballer.
Even as a Barca fan, and I know not everyone will agree, but he was always a good player for us if the position that he was having to adjust to at Barcelona is taken into consideration, more so when Quique Setién was playing the traditional 4-3-3 where he was playing on the left or right side of the pitch, which was an utterly clueless decision. He was never a traditional winger, if that's what we should call it. He was always a workhorse kind of a player. Those who remember the 2020/21 season, when Koeman changed it to more of a 5-3-2, it really brought the best out in him because he had played in such a system at Atleti, trying to roam around the pitch, helping in defense when needed, feeding balls to Messi in the right positions for him to thrive. I still remember he had like more than 10 goals and assists in the 2nd season under Koeman. Yeah, the numbers don't say everything and I do agree that he was really frustrating at times for Barca, but I would gladly say, he was the only one of the few players signed in the ill fated 2019/20 season that I would happily have kept in this squad, if not for the fact that he never was gonna be a part of the Barca system moving forward and if not for his high wages. I still love him and I am really happy seeing him finally thrive again like his old days ❤
Every player wants to play for Barca or Madrid at some point in their career. (Most) He really wanted to play with Messi. It didn't work out so he decided to put his head down and just work for the people who loved and adored him. Griezman.
Most of us Atleti fans have forgiven him. Everything goes through Grizi on offense. Hopefully we'll make some good transfers this summer and carry this form into the next season.
What has left since january from Atletico was also, a man called joao felix. Great talent, no doubt, but seems to never click with Atletico. Last half of the season, that's also the problem pf chelsea, the club felix moved to. IMO
Liverpool, Dortmund and Atleti have done a number on Bartomeu lol good players but came for silly money and none of them were bought with a clear plan.
As a Chelsea fan I can’t wait for Felix leave. He has been useless and has no desire to play so I am praying to all gods around the world for Chelsea not to buy him.
I’ve been a Barcelona since before I can remember, and the signing of Griezmann was exiting however once it looked like he wasn’t happy I was hoping that he’d return to Atletico and find form once again. I have no true hatred for any club in La Liga and I’m more than happy to see Griezmann playing well once again along with Atletico fans happy.
YO Adrian if you wanna make a video about 1. FCH i could connect you to a few journalists since it's my hometown. Would make great content since we're the only club except Leipzig to go from the 5th division up to the first (in all of europes top 5 league nations) only we did it with the same coach and with half a % of their budget.
It’s says a lot about who a player is around can impact your performance. His compat. Oz Dembele was that poor influence. Simple but truth. Life in general people around you can be toxic and assist you to make the wrong decisions in life.
La Liga is a joke, Griezmann has been one of the best of a generation and everyone who has said otherwise has been proven as plastic shallow "football fans".
What a load of crap he was never the best player in La Liga, yes he is really good.. but best 😂, Messi was the best until he left and now Lewa is the best
Griezmann somehow managed to join Atletico Madrid twice and Barcelona just immediately after each of them had won a La Liga title and didn't win another during his stint at those clubs.
From a Barca perspective Griezmann was the right player at the wrong time. Imagine griezy in the current Barca setup. He would have been much more effective
As a Barca fan I've always loved Grizzy. But Barca should have never signed him. Extremely poor squad planning from Barto's Board almost destroyed his career. Grizzy was employed at LW, except he's not a winger. He's not a 9 Like Suarez, and occupied the same spaces as Messi. It was never going to work. 🙃
I think Greizmann is arguably the best player in the world right now. He won’t win the Ballon D’or because of the popularity aspect of it and because Atleti didn’t win any silverware but he really is on another level atm (I am shamelessly biased btw!)
@@silvesta5027but ballondor literally goes by achievements and decorations If You out perform you win if you are most decorated and Had huge impact you will win
Greizmann is really a player who has gone under the radar its a shame cuz he is probably having one of if not his best seasons to date. also fair play to morata he's had a fairly decent season as well.
Griezman statistically never flopped he was one of the highest goal scorers in those barca seasons and made most cover ups and touches on the field but again the barcelona media is so awful in ridiculing players they bought for the most money ....this guy is talented and its fact not a matter of nerds behind suits who nevrr even kicked a soccer ball to have a say just coz they rule the media and wealth .look at every worldcup what he did not just this season get your facta straight
Love into the calderon, great articles there, very recommended. Griezzman has been incredible this season, best player in la liga this season in my opinion
I never blame the players at that time Barca the worst defense pique lenglet n busquets was way too slow n shitty made all the players look bad Barca issue was they had amazing players but they always liked to play the same players Barca had Dembele griezman coutinho another players loan/young lads that never had a chance n if they did defense was sht Barca ruined a lot of careers but I always said it griezman is way better than benzema being at Barca brought his level down but never doubt him being better than K9
You should definately do a video on Bastian Schweinsteiger, aka the Fußßballgot, one of the most underrated midfielders of all time, the heart of Bayern and Germany, it was such a privillege to watch him play during his years at Bayern, absolute masterclass by him. Please consider doing a "how good was Bastian Schweinsteiger" type of video!
As an Atleti fan, it's actually awesome seeing Jeremy. I read all the articles from IntoThe Calderon and I would really love to have more content on the site.
Football fans and media are often clueless and sheepish, they have agreed that he was a flop at Barcelona so they just push that narrative, because that's what they've all heard
The racist elephant needs to be addressed. Perhaps also wondering how Javier Tebas still has his job. That alone tells you all you need to know about the support for racism at the top levels of Spanish football.
One of the most humble and hard working guy ... I m a barca fan...bt i loved his season and i think he was adapting in Barcelona play style...bt messi's departure left him no choice...his time Barcelona was good... I won't say flop, honestly...
