Tips to increase milk supply: oats/oatmeal, fenugreek, moringa, lactation cookies, staying hydrated, pumping every 3 hrs day and night, using a stationary pump such as spectra as the hands free one dont have as strong of a suction but nice to use once in awhile, and try power pumping once or twice a day, less stress and proper sleep. For formula Id suggest European brands. Good luck!

I don’t know how strong the suction of the momcozy is, but making sure you’re using a pump that has a strong suction helps a lot! Also, just make sure you’re eating enough and drinking plenty of water. It’s truly all about supply and demand.

This Alaska Life has been making these Lactation Cookies I will see if I can ask her for the recipe . I used Fenugreek and ate oatmeal . I know you probably don’t drink but I found that having a beer a couple times a week actually helped my supply

In indian cultures we gift new mothers something called panjeeri to help with lactation, it's basically just a bunch of nuts/seeds/butter blended up. sometimes we'll make little 'energy balls' with it that you can then snack on!

Biggest suggestion is don’t rely on the hands free pump! The wall pump will get the most out as it’s more powerful. Also make sure you have the correct flange size!

I'm currently taking liquid gold by ledgendary milk and it has been great at bumping my supply. Its 20 dollars for a 10 day supply so 60 dollars a month but still worth it. I too have to supplement with formula but the liquid gold has helped a ton.

My daughter went through 10 different formulas before a friend told us about goats milk. My daughter had no problems on it and they say it's the closest thing to breast milk.

Eating oatmeal works to increase supply. Every day that I ate oatmeal I had more supply. Also using your pump between regular pumping sessions even if no milk coming out will stimulate your body to produce more milk

I exclusively pumped and my advice would be , pump every 3 hours, even overnight... And use a good electric pump daily too (I loved Spectra) I had a hands free pump too and it was nice on the go, it definitely didn't get as much as the stationary unfortunately.

Honestly nicu is traumatic and it’s hard to keep supply up sometimes after. We used NUTRIMAGEN which is dairy free but lots of good ones.

Agree with all the comments from the fellow exclusive pumpers! I will say that I splurged on the Elvie (not the stride, that one sucked) and I got very similar if not the same output as the spectra. If you love the convenience of a hands free I would say go with Elvie. And make sure you measure correctly for your flange size. It’ll help with supply and be more comfortable for you. Also, lubricate the flange with pump spray or lanolin ointment. Unfortunately you do need to be pumping every three hours. The late night ones are oftentimes the most plentiful because your prolactin levels are the highest between 1-4am. Once you’ve reached 24-30 ounces in a 24 hr period and your milk is established, try every 4 hrs. Works well for me.

Don’t use hands free pump as your main pump. Use a hospital grade like madela or spectra (my personal fav spectra s1) Another big tip is power pump to mimic cluster feeding which is what he most likely is doing at this age. Power pump is 20 min pumping, rest 10 min, pump 10 min, rest 10 min, pump 10 min. Do this 1-2 times a day! Early morning is best around 5-6am

What worked for me (13 months exclusively pumping for twins) : - power pumping for a few days every couple of months - alcohol free beer ( Heineken) - sesame bars (2 per day) - fenugreek every day - polenta (cornmeal) these definitely worked.

I exclusively pumped and i pumped every 2 hours for the first few months!.. 4-6 hours at night. I ate those lactation cookies from Walmart or target 🍪 which I like to think they helped cuz they were so good and took sunflower lecithin pills

One tip for increasing your milk supply is by making sure you empty your breasts as much as possible each time so it signals to your body to make more milk. If you are nursing, try to pump right afterwards for approx 10 minutes to help empty out as much as possible. ☺️

You could eat tons of oatmeal, or I've heard drinking those body Armour drinks are good for milk supply!

Renting a hospital grade pump may help with supply! Also try power pumping to increase your supply. Make sure you’re pumping 8 times a day.

To boost your supply the baby needs to nurse directly from your breast as much as possible! I would say skip pumping for a solid week and watch your supply increase.

If you’re not against this but maybe post on social media that you are looking for some donor milk to have in the freezer while you are working on your supply. But the Bobbie formula is really good!

Sams club brand is your best bang for your buck. My son did well we transitioned at 9.5 months to formula.

I work at a pediatric office and if you start formula we suggest starting with Enfamil gentle ease. It’s trial and error but that’s where we start. 💕

I wish I had the confidence to let my 16 year old drive me places. I know she needs the practice but the anxiety I get is really hard.

I would try to use your spectra or your medla as your main pump because hands free pumps don’t remove milk as well as spectra’s/medals do. Which can cause your supply to go down from not removing all the milk😁 so try power pumping with your spectra and then maybe only use your portable pump once a day. I exclusively pumped for a year and that is what really helped me😊

You could also try donor milk!

With my second baby I pumped while eating , he didn't stay awake long enough for both sides that it worked out for us.

I was told from a lactation nurse that the sucking action from the baby is what stimulates milk supply. I know he can’t do that right now, but when he can, you’ll probably get an over abundance. I think I also remember avacado for milk supply. I think for babies that struggle with regular formula, Nutramigen not positive of spelling. Really with all you went through with him being in the NICU, His pediatrician should be recommending a good formula to supplement with. Your family is awesome! Many blessings.

Hi! We have formula fed since birth - you NEED a portable milk/water warmer. I got ours from Amazon, you just set the temp and put the milk or water in the insulated bottle and wait a couple mins. From a RN here-Pump every 2 hours even wake up in the middle of the night. Put him to breast first (if you’re actually breast feeding) and then pump. The more “action” there, the more milk comes and stays!:)

Our son is allergic to gluten, so we had to use soy milk formula!

Oatmeal with flaxseed helped. I also liked making oatmeal cookies but i gained more weight along with milk.

I honestly never had a favorite formula. I've always just went with whatever the hospital started us on. My oldest had "regular" Gerber Good Start, my second had Similac (whatever the regular one is), and my third had to be on sensitive (this was during the formula shortage so we used various store brands)

Enfamil Enspire was our favorite formula

To help with warm formula when outside the home, boil water and put it in a thermos! It'll stay HOT for hours! Then bring room temp water and when you're ready, just mix the water together to a desired temperature

I drank Mothers milk tea that helped but I ended up having complications with all 3 of my kids. Ended up using Similac gas and fussy (orange lid) there regular (blue lid) is very close to breast milk still had the same stool like they nursed.

I sent you a recipe on IG that I swear by increased my supply tremendously by ALOT back to having to use pads to not leak out.

I used to use a hydroflask to keep my water hot, and I would stir not shake the formula into the water. Hope it helps

Every time you finish feeding, pump the rest of the milk out of both sides. It will really increase your supply and storage. and eat oatmeal and lots of water.

My son was premature and needed extra calories and he did great on similac NeoSure. My daughter did well on similac pro sensitive. (We used the Sam’s brand equivalent)

:( dont know wheather you removed my comment or the government at this point but your mother insticts exist for a reason Finn needs your 8008milk from the 8008 as much as gage needed it Dont you gind it odd that 2 of your other babies sort of ended up like finn due to not getting a c section soon enough and they 8008milked just fine
