Part of my "ultimate racquet of choice" journey.
This or Percept 100D or Solinco Whiteout 18x20 or Prestige Tour? :)
In short:
Looking for a grinder's weapon of choice. "counterpuncher/baseliner" . Control oriented enough to keep the ball forever in play but responsive enough to consistently apply pressure to opponent.

You bring up an good question at 8:10. What's better, a consistent defender or a frame that gives you one great weapon? Normally I'd say different, but if that weapon's a backhand, I think it's the choice. Most players' backhands suck, so they hit to others' BHs for relief. If you can take that away, you'll beat a lot of players before they even realize why they lost...

@@brandomaxwell i think this could be with any shot being your weapon. If you attack, you dont have to defend. Tipsarevic also had this philosophy (selecting frame to underline your assets). I had this conversation with some coaches around and some said that it is actually better to just play better all around which of course makes sense as well especially on the „amateur” level. The bigger the level of the opponents the more it is important to actually have some weapons. Its also a great confidence booster to have some shots that can lower the pressure or shift the pressure towards opponent. Its interesting for sure and there is No better/worse here imo…

Finally, some detailed review about Prestige MP! I have played with it for 3 months already and I am very satisfied. Previously used Prestige Tour, Gravity MP but I always lacked control and couldn't properly point my shots where I want them to go.. so I switched from 16x19 and 16x20 to this one and really enjoy it so far

@@dimitarmollov4650 nice :) any mods ? What strings are you using ? Ye I think it’s Head’s hidden gem really. Most tennisnerds imo will enjoy this racquet. Will it be a switch it depends but its a very fun to play racquet for sure !

@dandan.tennis I currently stringed it with Wilson Power (natural gut) and Head Multifillament (MLT) at 24/23kg. I have had some elbow issues since January when I played with the Gravity MP, so I decided to go for natural guts. I am very surprised of this combination so far (power + lack of pain + control). The one thing my trainer says I need to focus on is the top-spin.. my shots are a bit flat. Except for the Gravity MP (2023) and Prestige Tour (2021), I also have Extreme Tour (2022), Speed Pro (2024) and about 7-8 other Heads :))) older than 2015.. so after playing for 3 years until now, I can definitely say the Prestige MP offers the best combination between power/control/slice/.. Hopefully I will add topspin to it :) I am right handed and got one-handed backhand

Base liners dream ??? 😂. That refers to every tennis player today. No tennis player today knows how to play a mid-court and volley and net game. It’s all baseline !!!!

maybe...especially when we see Djokovic and Sinner being on the top. Alcaraz is mixing it a little as an aggresive attacker and shotmaker. But is it bad? No. and some racquets brands are following the stats as well (imo)
