they didn't take this song seriously at all! this song was made in like ten minutes, lyrics and all. they were going for "a pop song that could never be played on the radio because of the lyrics". back in bullets gerard really thought that having a chorus (or any song structure at all) made a song "pop" lmfao. thats why the other songs in the album are messier compared to this one
Your pfp makes me comfortably uncomfortable (I feel like thats a song ima look it up now) Edit: it's an underrated song and it's good. I'm surprised it's a song I like lol
I never really listened to the words because I was focusing on the guitar but now I know the lyrics, I think of this song and the whole album differently. I've now gone through the whole album analysing lyrics and it's inspired me to do more with my own songwriting. It's pretty fucking cool
Crazy to think about the meaning behind it huh? The famous picture from 9/11? This song was made to go behind that. Along with this whole album being heavily based on the effects 9/11 had on Gerard. Very sad.
@@yaynottay I thought just Skylines and Turnstiles was about 9/11. From what I got out of the documentary, the entire album seems to be about all of Gerard's life aspects from around then - Then changed to fit in with fantasy monsters and horror movies (Early Sunsets is literally a tribute to Dawn of the Dead). Just like Revenge, the story of Bullets was given metaphorical characters, but Revenge had more of a solid storyline to it.
bread stick similar chord progression. Dead goes between mainly two chords in the very beginning. Then transitions to like 2 others. I believe a good 3 are the same with this. Headfirst for halos has more of a lively progression though because it goes upwards on the guitar whereas DEAD goes in a bipolar motion sort of.
@@remnantsactualpvp1590 honestly I interpreted it as something more dark. Like someone is about to unalive themselves but they’re trying to think of happy thoughts so they don’t do it.
I went digging and found this. I feel like it should be share so here's a lovely mental image for y'all. Taken from MCR official website in 2002. "I need a shave, a new dye-job, and some decongestant so I'll leave you with the image of me sitting in my house watching Mad Monster Party, moaning, sweating, boxer-clad, and trying to hit the high notes in Headfirst For Halos. - g "
it's midnight and I'm crying you have no idea what this means to me it's therapy I want to scream and cry and punch a wall because THIS SONG helps me feel thank you
Something that I really like about this song is how it sounds so upbeat like it’s happy but the lyrics are so dark I love those types of things because it reminds me of laughing at yourself as a coping mechanism but then people start to realize that you really do need help That’s sort of what early sunsets over monroeville reminds me of too because lyrically it’s like at the beginning there’s a perfect facade going on like “yeah everything’s amazing” but you don’t mean it and then throughout the song you hear the facade start to break apart and fall away as everyone realizes you need help
@@whatever9248 wellll... when i hear this song, I also image Gerards voice saying "this song is about suicide. Don't do it".. I know, it doesn't make much sense, but it's make sense for me... :/ also sorry for my bad English
even if i got to know them like barely a month ago, i really think i have a pretty deep connection to them. their lyrics, music, their personality and just my chemical romance really means a lot to me. they have helped me through bad mood swings, and gave me so much happy, tearful, excited and panicking moments. maybe my hormones are just messed up and that's why i fell so deeply into the mcr hole, but this definitely is my best "hormones messing with me" moment,, gah i'm emotional
Bullets summary in order 1. Aw musical! Sooo mysterious! 2. Its pointless in trying, were not working out 3. TWILIGHT! 4. Ouch My heart! Btw I kill woman like the Ring hehehehe 5. Immortality is fake 6. DRUGS! SUICIDE! HAPPINESS! 7. 9/11 8. Oh no, she's a vampire now... 9. She's dead... Let's lie to ourselves that were okay! 10. That backfired so now I'm thinking of suicide 11. So I'm dead too... I shot myself...
I love how much this picture fits with this song Its all good and nice at first but the more you look the more is obviously wrong Like you notice things that seem off about the picture And you notice extremely dark things in the song
I think I'm in love with your videos..:) Amazing work..Could you please do desert song and heaven help us by my chemical romance They are my favourite songs so it would be nice if you do them ;)
Discovered them early, they went on to wannabe Queen or some shit. Now my not so baby niece states their her favourite band and so now I have to listen again. Guilty pleasure for a music teacher
@@acompletedisaster9334 well, parts of it, yes, and there are some satire parts, but other parts also highlight what he went through. The drug use, the suicidal thoughts. He even said it was about suicide.
Honestly, when I first heard Headfirst for Halos I felt like it should’ve been the theme song for a T. V. show about a depressed vampire trying to live in modern society (I do realize now that that’s no where close to what HFH is referencing, nor Bullets, but, I still like to believe the whole album’s about vampires)
I was in the middle of reading your comment and just noticed your profile pic. At first I thought it was a normal picture of a girl but then I took a second glace and realised.
