I ended up taking the front bumper off and the light unit out. Next time I will try and do it the more awkward way you did, albeit not as scary-looking as my approach was :-D

Great job IT Funk. Your video gave me the confidence to try this out on my Touareg Hybrid. I did also use ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xds6uAIwgZ4.html. (for anyone who wants to attempt it). Successfully change the bulb on the driver side. It was very fiddly and tricky to reach but got there and got it right eventually. I'd advice anyone attempting to do this to ensure you test putting back the old bulb a few times to get the position right as you will be doing this blindly because of the position of the headlights. once you are confident to do this then replace with the new bulb. This saved me an expensive visit to dealer. I must add I didn't have to remove the bumper .. load of mis-information on how to do this out there.

Is the right hand headlight bulb also able to be changed without bumper removal???
