Just wanted to let you know me and my dad just did this. Great tutorial and my headlights look brand new. Also deleted the reflector and I like how clean it looks. I have a black B8 S4 and it looks so much better from this simple mod. Great work explaining how to do this!! We enjoyed watching and it was easy to follow.
Really good video! The lights came out great, and you did a really good job explaining the process. I might suggest doing the cardboard box oven outside, and maybe line the inside of the box with foil for speed and safety reasons. Subscribed!
I would also cut hole and leave the heat gun outside with just the tip blowing heat in box. Because you can overheat the tool and ruin it. I’ve destroyed several expensive ones. Otherwise good work
Hi @GioTheMechanic thank you for share this knowledge. After 9 months, how looks yours audi lenses? Is good quality plastic? I'm planning to buy those, thanks in advance for your answer
Hey man, I’m think of getting these. How are they turning out after a year of heat? Also did it have any noticeable increase in beam projection output? Esp for the high beams.
Hello, if you watch one of my recent videos called “everything wrong with my Audi A4 B8 after 6 years” you can see the condition on the headlights. And there was totally a noticeable increase in beam projection output.:)
How long did you heat it for to take off? How long did you heat it when putting new lens on? What do you think the total time is for each light and put back on the car?
@@abirprince326 I’ve fixed up several headlights now for these audis and these lenses worked out fine. From 2009-2012 a4 as long as they aren’t the adaptive headlights
Thanks.i was wondering if there was a way to delete those markers without paying 500 dollars for new headlights.now I know, glad i didnt buy new headlights.
Nice. But this is too much work for me. I have zero tools & have fractured & herniated discs in my back. So I'm sure the Audi dealer will charger me $1600 + tax for this job. Also, my MMI died (2011 A4). Audi diagnosed it as a "bad 5F module". Problem is it's $4500 to replace w/ labor & tax. I know the 5F module goes for $175-$300. Without the MMI I can't reset tire pressure, use backup camera, use CD player, use navigation etc. I looked into getting an aftermarket Apple Car Play system to replace the Audi system (it's a company out of Canada) and there are videos on RU-vid of how to change it and I believe it's only $300. Problem is (according to the people I've spoke with at repair shops & the aftermarket company) is that you need a working 5F module before you can swap to this Apple Car Play replacement system - which also doesn't make sense. Not paying $4500 to buy a $300 replacement system. Plus my A4 has to only be worth a couple grand now with 135k miles on it. Really sucks having no MMI and losing all the features that comes with it.
