Hi friends, I removed the headliner for the CLK W209 and replaced the sunroof assembly, here in this video you will find the details of how to remove different components like sun visors, vanity and ceiling lights, grab handles and... in the next video I will have the video for headliner fabric assembly... thank you for liking, sharing, subscribing and providing feedback as usual. Cheers.
Great job ..this is the best video in the world on how to do this procedure. I was going to try and repair my falling headliner , but I was unable to figure out how to disengage the liner from the sunroof aluminium edge strips. So I never did it. You are very clever and skilled to do this big job. My best advice to everyone is to regularly clean and lubricate the sunroof tracks , and that will hopefully prevent any problems . Usually that is all that is needed to fix a sunroof that moves a little but stops often. How did you go with the wires that you cut and the aerial cable ? Did you cut that as well ?
Hi Leonardo, thank you for your positive feedback, I really encourage you to do the headliner project, Next week video will be more helpful for the steps in fixing the headliner, so it may help you too.
To change the Sunroof you dont need to cut any wire. You can leave it there, but its maybe a little uncoimfortable to do it but not impossible. but I know that in this Video he want to change the cover. But anyway, tahnk you for this Video, iot helped me alot. I had changed the sunroof yesterday. One Tip form my side, you have to reprogram the sunroff to work without any problems. you have to open it to the top and wait 10 sec. then close it to the down and wait another 10 sec. And then it will work fine.
Mine only work when it goes up, when i try to open to the back somewhere in the middle position is making some noise and it's getting stuck...nice video !! Very helpful 😊
thank you, this give me confidence to mine soon it seems pretty straight forward, I just need to source a new sunroof for mine. Pity about cutting the wires on the C pillars, could you show you rejoined these wires?
Great work thanks alot , but how you get out the headliner out from the car and how you get it back ? ..I think it will be good if we see how you do it in details. my car is w210 , can i bend it a little to get out or it ll' be broken ? ..thanks again ..❤
Hi, yes for W210 the opening is smaller, I think factory installs the headliner before windshield installation. For W209 This is not an issue due to no B pillar...
When I installed a new sunroof in mine, the back edge of the glass ended up being an inch shorter than the metal in terms of height. Any ideas why? I did screw the front it first and then the back so it’s possible the sunroof got jammed against the seal in the back ?
Cost me $100 and I also fixed the sagging fabric too. All in all not even $200. I encourage you to do this yourself. Took me about 12 hours of work for both projects.
