It would have been nice if you would have shown How you removed the parts instead of just showing us After shots of them removed.

Amazing video! I need to lower my headliner a few inches to install 3 nmo mounts in the roof and don't wanna drill through the headliner. Thanks for posting!

Good video. I've already done the floor, back wall, c-pillars, and lower b-pillars hand was wondering if I should do the roof too. Looking at what's up there I'd definitely say "yes". Although I used "B-quiet". It's half the price of dynamat but works pretty much the same. Peel and stick and comes in 1 ft by 50 foot rolls. Thanks.

Excellent video. I was wondering what was on the inside roof, I wanted to install a factory DVD from another Dodge, didn’t want to pull the headliner unless I knew where the cross beams were. Don’t know how many videos I watched just to see something else. I like how you showed as much as you could including the rear light wiring. Good job brother, thanks for helping me out. Hi Jack, that's a great video man! I was thinking today about how to better cool off my Ram truck. I can feel heat pouring in from the rooftop therefore I'm glad I saw your video. If you don't mind me asking, did you by chance do a temperature check on the roof interior before and after your install? I'm curious how much it helps. I've had ceramic tint put on my windows and while it helps, I still think the overwhelming majority of the heat is coming in through the roof. And what's your recommendation on most bang-for-your-buck as far as dynaliner and dynamat if someone wanted to help stop heat through the roof? Thanks.

I also own a 2010 Ram 1500 and I'm having a problem with my map lights...they won't turn on when pressing them while the doors are closed. They will only turn on by opening a door. However, they will turn off when pressing them while a door is open. Additionally, my visor vanity lights are not working at all. My suspicion is bad wiring above the headliner because the schematic diagram shows they all share a ground. Anyone else have this problem and is there an easier way to troubleshoot/repair?

Thanks Jack great video. My question is in regard to the black bracket that supports the overhead console. I see you removed it. I need to replace mine. Do you think it would be possible to do that without removing the headliner?

Howdy GM. It's been a few years since I posted the vid, and no longer have the truck. (Miss the hell out of it). But at the 7:46 mark in the video, if I recall there are some clips and the only way to get to em, is to drop this liner. Hope that helps you out.

Excellent vid, thanks for showing more than other guys do. It always helps us when you do a big job like this to show all the other wiring like the cab lights part . I want to install a rear camera in my third brake light, now I know how and where to run the wires. Also, If your rear speakers were not there, could you have got the headliner out the door?
@Zanezach
@Zanezach 5 лет назад
Only if I folded it like a taco, I fear. The windshield is most likely method for extraction. The headliner is rather rigid and it would have resulted in a permanent crease or worse.
@underradar9858

Got a question, when removing the upper b pillars, did you have to take lower pillars off first to get top off? And also once you get seatbelt bolt out along with 2 tab bolts, do you just pull the upper pillar out like it’s held in with speed clips or is there something else you have to maneuver out?
@Zanezach
@Zanezach 5 лет назад
Right, bottom B first then top, because it exposes a torx bolt. Once that bolt is removed, plastic clips keep it in place and you can gently pull down and away to remove the top B. Good luck!
@underradar9858
@underradar9858 5 лет назад
Ah so it’s just not the seatbelt torx there’s also one underneath the bottom pillar for the top one? And also I’d have to remove the door sills to get bottom out? Would I beable to just slightly pry the bottom pillar out enough to get upper one out instead of taking whole bottom pillar out? Would of been great to see a step by step but prob hard to film while doing it all and making it long :) I just can’t find any videos on b pillar removal.

Is this seriously the only way to drop the headliner!? That’s insane. I have crazy leaks coming from what seems like everywhere and wanted to drop the headliner to try and determine where it’s coming from, but no way I’m taking out all the seats and everything. That’s crazy. Maybe I’ll just flex seal my entire damn truck lol.

Would you be kind enough to fill me in on how much square footage of dynamat you need for that entire project. Not just the roof, I think I heard you mention that you had covered other areas. Possibly everything that could be covered? Ty I'm in the process of building my stereo. Waiting for some small stuff and seeing how much I'm going to spend on the dynamat.

@@rickm400ex Hi Rick, if memory serves I purchased 5 boxes (yes 5!) of the Dyanmat mega packs. I have 1/2 of a box remaining ( since sold my truck). I believe I bought 4 dynapads, and 4 rolls of 1/4 inch dynaliner, 1 box of 1/2 dynaliner and 2 boxes of 1/8 dynaliner. I ended up with about a yard of 1/4 inch remaining. It has been a few years -- so that is a ballpark assessment but not far off! Good luck to you on your project! Hope the videos have helped you!

I'm trying to install a screw on hat rack on a 2020 Ram headliner. Where can I safely position the screws for maximum strength?

I used Mega Zorbe Hydrophobic Melamine Foam on my 2019 ram 1500 classic. I thought I had to take the whole headliner out too but ended up just removing the 1. sun visors 2. the two front pillars 3. the two back clothes hangers. The headliner rests on the 2 middle pillars so no need to mess with those. You need to disconnect the back light by opening it and unclipping it. And thats it. we rested it on the seats and put the foam on which is really really really sticky. IF YOU TOUCH THE STICKY SIDE THE STICKY SIDE WILL STICK TO YOU AND YOU DESTROY THE PIECE YOU TOUCHED. so you have to be as careful as possible. You may also need to cut one wire in the back passenger side as mine ended up being too short and hanging up the headliner. No idea what it was for - thin green wire.

Question Can the headliner be taken out of the truck through the door - everything I've seen says that the front or back windshield needs to be taken out?????
@Zanezach
@Zanezach 3 года назад
I read somewhere that it can be folded enough to do so, like a taco and that the crease created can be smoothed out once re-installed. Otherwise, windshield or back window. Unless you need to remove it, work around it, and reattach wires when done. Good Luck!

What’s the rear seat mod?
@Zanezach
@Zanezach Год назад
Heya Ryan. There are a few vids out there but essentially on the 4th Gens you can put extra washers as spacers on the floor bolts. It raises the back seat just a bit. It creates just the right amount of space at the hooks behind the seat. When you fold the rear seat up, it clears those hooks, allowing you to then drop the backrest. Super if you need to access that extra space. There is another way to do this -- cut the hooks themselves, but I do not recommend this. Hope that helps!

Not a hint of insulation on the roof to stop heat from radiating into the cab. This is why the cab of my 2015 Ram 1500 never cools off on a hot day with AC on max setting. Overall, i'm not very happy with my Ram compared to my past Tundra or F-150's. Thanks for the video.

Larry G. There is some foam between the fabric and the molded portion of the headliner. It’s thin, but it is there and would help. I’m in north Texas and didn’t have trouble getting my crew cab cooled off after some run time. I did spend $400 to have all my windows tinted with the high end ceramic tint and that made a world of difference! Cools off in a fraction of the time it used to.
