Loons are the closest bird to being merbirds, their feet are exclusively used to paddle water and they can only take off from the water. If a loon is on land it needs to use its wings to scootch itself back to a lake or river or whatever, as their legs are too far back on their bodies to let them walk. They’re great swimmers too!

I think it's so cool how you jump right in and do the color first, and the lineart afterward. I also love how your art always looks like a western cartoon or something part of a graffiti posted (? The goat one looks like a shark tried to eat the goat, but the goat was tougher, so it busted out of the shark and now wears the shark's skin as he swims through the ocean, his new domain. Or it looks like a capricorn. Either way I love it.

I love Posca Markers so much. I'm terrible with actual paint so the fact that it's paint but a pen makes it so easy. Love these reversed animals. ;O; Keep up the great work, Kasey.

Your banana ell bunny has to be my favorite one! Did you know that carrots are actually not very good for rabbits and they don’t really like them that much, but do you know what they do like? Bananas!!! They literally go crazy over them. Also you should of done a cat fish cat reverse mermaid! It would of been so funny

Love them! feel like you missed an opportunity with the fish dog as there are specific dog breeds known as water dogs.... but then again I might be lil biased as I love poodles and dont see enough art of them. 😋

You should do this again and have a bag of aquatic animals to draw from as well. Keep in the coin flip to see where the aquatic half goes. I would love to see a reverse, elephant/octopus merthing.

Sorry if I'm a bit pretentious, but I learned this from Celeste, so apparently the story goes thusly: Zeus and his friends were hiding from some sort of river-monster, and Pan, the funny goat-boy, accidently only half-turned into a fish, unlike that one guy and his mama, who fully-turned. That's how Capricorn and Pisces were put up in the sky.
