Adapt your previous Bottom Bracket tool or make it from scratch. As always, parts should be cheap and readily available from your local hardware store. Reference pictures here.... www.facebook.c...
I find a simple, cheap and you can find almost anywhere to replace the plastic parts is using woods, a bit difficult to aim but yay it's works. I love your DIY series from Indonesia❤
Very nice tool. You probably already know but for the rest of us - when making a press fit in aluminum or steel you should be using grease to make it easier and you wont have seized / cold welded parts. Ive worked in automotive industry where they were pressing the bearings and water pipe fittings into aluminum water pumps for the corvettes/silverado pickups. The press machines always used alot of grease to press the bearings
I was going to make one, but I didn't have any of the hardware already. When I priced out the threaded rod, nuts and washers, with current high material prices, it ended up being cheaper to just buy a press from Amazon for $20 usd, and I didn't have to leave my chair.
You inspired me and quickly ran out to Bunnings and got the items to make. Ill message you on fb as I found an irrigation fitting that needs no mod, and screws straight onto the tank access fitting. I think even better than you other DIY vid on the 3-in-one. Ill send you photos
Great tool, which I will be making today. But WD40? Isn’t that a degreaser? Every time I mention WD40 on bike pages, it causes uproar 😂. Love your vids! Thanks.
not gonna lie..as a kid i totally would use a hammer..now days if i had to mess with something like that i would lay a small piece of 2x4 on there and hit it...with a hammer..:)
unless its a carbon frame, you can just carefully press in by hand and then hammer it in w a mallet or phonebook, the interface is angled unlike bearings whcih go straight in and need better alighnment also shouldnt you use real grease, i cant imagine the w40 will be good to keep water out, etc
my one comment would be, if we're not in Australia, I wonder what might be an alternative to a female, Hansen poly plug tank fitting? they're $43 on ebay.
