Magfed w/FSR is unique in that it is arguably the most “realistic” Milsim experience in the world. How “real” can it be? You ask. It’s real enough to have dedicated target shooting events using it’s markers and load-outs. There have been Sniper Challenges before but what about a DM (Designated Marksman) Challenge? ‪@magfedranchpaintball‬ discusses the possible rules, course layout, and setups needed for this Challenge. Would you attend and what marker are you bringing?

Couple questions: Are using a regulator on your tank and is the PSI changed? Also, is that a normal rifle scope and how is it with FSR?

Yes my air bottle has a Milsig Node regulator MK2. It allows me to switch the air supply on/off before detaching the tank. It's a standard 3k bottle with output pressure set at 850psi. The scope is a BSA WR 4x32 which will fit pretty much any rifle. I run first strike rounds exclusively through this marker. With the rifled barrel I fitted to it, it's just as accurate as any other magfed marker with a rifled barrel shooting FSR. One thing I will say is that using the Milsig as a base platform means that it has a regulator which provides better shot to shot consistency in terms of FPS fluctuations. It gives a slightly tighter grouping which makes zeroing a bit easier.

There isn’t much to add to this video. You’re dead on, I guess the only critique I have is the uniform itself. I think whatever a player is comfortable in and their gear is designated to their own preference. For this challenge, no side arms, however a 2-3gun challenge, absolutely. To make things fair and to standardize the competition, i would suggest fsr have to be bought at the field. Now, for the 2-3 gun challenge BYOFSR. Sniper challenge, field fsr only. This will avoid the possibility of altering the ammo or getting an edge etc. your on a roll bro, keep the posts coming !

Thank you for the kind words and feedback! There's pros and cons with the Field FSR vs BYOFSR. Our hope with BYOFSR was that teams or sponsored back teams would test, develop, and produce FSR rounds to improve their chances of winning the Challenge and then that information or improvements would trickle down to the masses.

@@magfedranchpaintball for sure, however we revert back to the “cost” discussion. In addition to that, if a team is winning too much, one could say they’re cheating b/c of modified rounds even if for the betterment of magfed. We are people, and that’s just how people act especially when losing. So realistically, I would suggest that perhaps testing be done by fields and or manufacturers at events by paint brought by them for said testing.

@@almac03 I definitely think there is a middle ground. Maybe let teams pick up their pre-purchased Field FSR the day of the event during check-in when the gates first open. Then during the debrief and throughout the day, their armorer or support staff can sort it out to their "match grade" specifications.
