Headstart: Former Chief Justice Davide reviews draft federal charter 

CJ Hilario Davide is more convincing in presenting his opposition to Federalism, honest and sincere in his reasoning. I admire the former Chief Justice in the way he expound his stand against revising our National Constitution. Given the right and honest discussion of the bad effect of embracing Federalism our people should disagree. I have never been in favor of Federalism.

Then you must read the proposed federal consitution to really understand CJ Davide's point. He discouraged the federal system not because he does not like it but he see it as a dangerous experiment. If the present administration really wants the betterment of the Philippines then the committee must not rush into things and analyze first the outcome of this proposed constitution.

Mr.H.Davide has a high sense of integrity and credibility.which to me can just ventilate his sentiments ,knowledge and honest opinions about a topic/s ..

Great respect for this brilliant man. Worth listening to the whole interview. He pointed out some really sneaky provisions in the draft constitution. People need to listen to this.

Davide has an interesting mindset. He's not politicizing. He just wants to express what he honestly feels. Davila was apparently trying to catch him with the comment on Robredo (that the Dutertae camp were trying to remove Robredo) but he clearly made his point that it may not be the case. Robredo could be just a casualty in their attempt to technically allow Dutertae to run.

CJ Davide is not opposing for Federalism.. he just don’t agree on some of the provisions that are “in general” and not specific as well as self serving provision to hold power

He's a good critic for the proposed federal draft charter, I think the congress should hire him for a lecture and debacle any provision that has disadvantages for the filipino people. Chief Justice Puno VS. Chief Justice Davide, two experts of law of land.

Common sense when there are two houses in Congress they vote separately because each house has separate power. 24 votes has different power with 250+ votes. Only opportunist or stupid will think otherwise

Wow, even the idea of increasing the qualifications of a the candidate he doesn't like? What if we amend the constitution and add education as an unalienable right.

He said that 1987 Constitution is pro poor , but its a lie because if its for the poor why there are many jobless Pilipinos around the country its because of their hostile economic restriction which do not allow the foreign investors to own 100% of their business capital in our country which resulting the investors to shy away of their business and went to another countries to do their business.. But if not the restriction which Davide was one who wrote the 1987 Constitution then perhaps and for sure Pilipinos will not suffer Poverty..because they will bring their company and factory and like mushroom are sprouting all over the philipines and massive employement for jobless Pilipinos..

Federal man, o Presidential, o communism, o democratic, o kung ano man klaseng form of government ay hindi importante. Ang importante ay ang mga klase ng taong namumuno. A corrupt leader, corrupts the whole system. A righteous leader, makes the system works.

Your'e misleading the people on double taxation.. Still Federal state has the taxes..very little..or Zero point for the State tax.

It's proven that only the celebrities enjoy the privilege of winning an election without a college degree and sometimes not even graduating in highschool. In times of peace, people should vote educated and competent people. Perhaps, that "ability to read and write" can be a provision in times of war or emergency situations that reqyire an immediate election.

Davide doesn't want a new draft of constitution simply because he cares more about his legacy as he was part of the '86 Con Com eventhough changing the form of Government now will benefit all filipinos.
