We all have wounds, attachments, and weaknesses, and our culture has a lot of answers as to how we ought to heal from them. But did you know that they have spiritual implications - and spiritual cures - too? Fr. Chad Ripperger is back to tell us how our wounds can provide the Devil with footholds into our life. Even more importantly, he tells us how our own actions can affect the power those wounds have over us. Fortunately, God has our back if we’ll trust Him and love Him. Check out this conversation to see why healing is vital to our spiritual lives!

My Protestant mother is a narcissist & for nearly all my life I didn’t know this. I just thought she hated me most days. Like 360 days a year. I didn’t realize why I was always angry when I had to be around her. Even if she didn’t do or say anything mean to me. Once I realized I was not forgiving her AND not just accepting her as she is, it was then that I started healing & trying to look at this as “my” test from God to earn more graces. Now she still can make me mad if I let her, but if I pray before being with her or talking on the phone, etc., then I’m usually ok & she even can be nice. It’s a constant thing that I must always pray. When she starts acting up I pray to my spiritual Mother to help me. It always works :) I also pray for her daily, too. Mainly my daily rosary & the Memorare. My stepdad is a 33rd degree Freemason in the Scottish Rite. It wasn’t until recently that I found out that they are all witches. By the time they are in the 33rd degree it is then that they are exposed to all the really heavy stuff in witchcraft. You’d never know it to meet him except for that obvious ring he wears. So I’m always a bit on edge around him, because of the pure evil I know he’s involved in, but I also love him. He never adopted me, but he married my mom when I was 9 & he was a good father to me. I’ll be crushed when he dies; he’s in his 80s now. I pray for his conversion, too.

Pray for his conversion. I had an uncle that was a Shriner, and also extremely active in his Lutheran church. He passed away last August, and there were so many examples of Christian charity that it gives me some hope that at least he made it to Purgatory. Keep praying your rosary for your stepfather’s, and your mother’s, conversion. And if you haven’t done it, I do recommend a good Catholic therapist to help you heal from having a narcissistic mother.

I have prayed the Rosary daily since the last days of Nov 22. The last few months, I've assigned someone, living or dead, to each bead to pray for them. I'm not a Catholic yet. I called the Church a couple months ago but they didn't call back. I'm pretty old & somewhat disabled. I've been on other paths but the Spirit inside never left me alone, even when the path turned out to be negative. I've soaked up a lot about the Church even being alone. I ask Mary to pray for me to ask Jesus to accept me.

Sorry, but praying to God is praying to Satan. Satan is god. This is an entity that has to be worshipped. It needs energy from our devine spark. God or Satan is is the entity that is almost totally removed from its devine spark. This entity is very old and very smart, and knows everything about us. Is you tell to the devil is is a devine being, it will kill you imediately. because when satan discover its devine spark, it will end its kingkom and power. In the syntehic universe . But there is an organic creator of this uneverse. We are all devine infinite beings, in co-creation with the original creator. We are guests, and are experiencing all aspects of this universe. @@stingingnettle9726 That's easy. God became a human being and entered onto the scene. Then left a Bible telling us all about it. But you don't need to take my word for it. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is flying around you right now, wanting you to notice Her. Start praying. Turn off the devices. Go sit in a Catholic Church in front of the tabernacle. Try to feel the True Presence. If you want tips on the best way to proceed, you can read "The Way of Perfection" by St Teresa of Avila. Contemplative prayer will give you every answer to every question you could ever ask. Pray "God, show me the Truth." Then _listen_. Then do it again. And again. And again ... I've never known this prayer to fail.

@@teresaoftheandes6279 We need to tell them anyway, or their despair is on us. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. If we don't tell them, it won't occur to them to take it to prayer. This is the entire reason for the Great Commission. Then after we tell them, then you're exactly right: we need to pray for them. And then remind them we are still praying for them. Because the demons will continue to tell them they are NOT important. So we too need to be tireless.

@@stingingnettle9726 Understood. So go to God and ask Him directly. That's what I did when I was questioning. "God, show me the Truth." Pray that as often as it takes until He answers. It might take a long time, but He will answer. Read the Bible so you can learn how He talks/acts. Then when you hear His "voice", you'll recognize it. It might come through another person. It might look like this comment. It might indeed be this comment. I'll go to the church today and pray for your success in this endeavor. May God bless you with fortitude, perseverance, and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit you will need.

I was not raised religious, and my Dad was often violent. At 19, I was raped by a fellow soldier and impregnated. God sent an angel to me in my fear and told me not to kill the child (literally). It is a moment that I never forgot. Nine months later, n the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, I bore a son and gave him up for adoption. These traumas let me toward the Catholic faith multiple times over the course of years because Satan had a stronghold on me. I have now been Catholic for 26 wonderful years. My dad passed the year I became Catholic and I pray that God forgives him. I has been harder for me to forgive the man who raped me and the Army for their injustices toward me; however, today I finally understood that it was through these traumas that I gained a faith in God that I treasure every day. They were gifts given by God. May the God of light have mercy on them, forgive them their sins, and forgive me for holding on to fear and anger.

This is so true, if you allow Jesus to work virtue into you, and forgive everyone, the relationship with Him is wonderful, beyond words. Although I am separated from them now, 54 years with parents, 33 years in marriage, I know it will work out for their good and mine. Trust Him! A walk with God is the best life you can ever have.❤

This is what happened to me. Abused as a child in many forms. Grew up, left my successful acting career because torment started happening.( Satan had open doors from the abuse). Spent 17 years being trained by God, fighting for my sanity. Grew into a level of holiness I never thought. I was a good kid and love God, but did not know I'd be a person that had high powered spiritual gifts in Christ and my acting life is far, far behind me. People that don't have this journey would never believe it's real. Too bad more priests don't have some type of training in this, at least to acknowledge it which can be supportive for someone in an unspeakable battle.

Even I had years of abuse from my narcissistic family especially mother and brother, and a whole school /Peers. It was just a small village which made it worse. It was so bad to this day some threatened to kill me, for no reason. A friend informed me about it when she had met one of them. She said I've done nothing the person didn't care, if he saw me he'd run me over. Anyway I've had it too, and the devil likes to stick to being kept outside as often he could. I have always been sensitive, and when I was just a small child I was sent to a church for children church and recieved a bible, and swallow it and believe everything. My parents atheist and only a few protestant Christians in the family that wasn't exactly living it. I asked God to keep me, and he did and I start to have dreams how I'd be saved in the end, sitting in a room with people and a friend of mine I came to know years later was there. I was only 5 years old. Angels came and took me saying I'll be saved in the end. I have tons like that. I have met jesus in dreams inform me about things. Nothing have ever been wrong. I have seen people healed by God. People without hope. I have had demonic encounters where the person's been either helped or the demon silent. I have had Lutheran priest tell me their congregation I shouldn't say anything because some would not take it lightly. God sent me dreams about that church about split in the church. He gave them a warning to change or remove himself. The elder of the church had prayed about the split. They didn't listen. I have tons. Much can be said, but it's like you said, noone with understanding or knowledge.

Mother was scizthronic, plus my mother was dragged into a cult. I grew up alcholic to block the memories. I am 57yrs old, 30 years clean alcohol. I face up to the memories and body memories. Demons always try with the vulnerable. But I used god to shine my soul, strength to face up to everything. I had severe depression all my life, due to the memories. I used to think, whsts the point . But I though abusers want you to fail, so I thought no, I got to win. I have given pure love to my family, brought a child up in a functional life. My child is confident, having a good life. I criticised Chris Stefanick's approach in these interviews as too jocular and too quick to chip in with comments and laughter, but having watched more I realise I got things wrong and I regret having commented to that effect in the past. He does a very good job indeed, and presents us with very valuable information. I particularly appreciated the reminder that Catholicism has a spirituality within in it (too often overlooked) that misguided people may go to other religions for. Thank you for the much needed message of forgiveness and detachment. Can Fr Ripperger and Mr Stefanick talk more about forgiveness in the future? I know it's very important to forgive, but it's so hard to forgive when the person who hurt you live under the same roof with you, or work in the same place as you do. God bless you both.

Just want to make a simple comment. I suffered a lot growing up, God gave me the grace to work through it all and be healed. I still wonder how much more serious sin I carry around, and even more, when I look at the status of the world today, and the condition most people are in, I wonder who can be saved?

Wow, thank you, Chris and Fr. Ripperger. I needed to hear what you were talking about starting at 17:53 concerning forgiveness. I’ve been needing to forgive someone that I’ve felt has hurt me severely, and now I need to detach from the hurt and to pray that we can be friends in heaven. Thank you for your work, and let us pray for each other.

You understand why they do what they do, how they are broken, what caused their brokenness. You will feel sorrow for them and your bond of unforgivenss will be broken. You will want to pray for them. You will see as Fr. said patterns of their behaviour. I actually saw myself in them. May our Father heal you and all those who hurt you.

What I have found incredibly helpful in this regard is to pray for that person who has wounded me in whatever way it is. I started doing that when I remembered Jesus saying to 'pray for those who persecute you'. For me, it has been the only way to have the courage to forgive and the true desire to forgive, and move on with peace. St Teresa of Avila wrote about how many people wring their hands over hurts done to them, but fail to remember they themselves have also hurt others. That helped me enormously as well.

The injury that happens as a child is very difficult to let go of. Further Father is right. We shouldn't give out punishment, I've seen it would my own eyes. I want to go to heaven and nomatter what anyone did to me I don't want it in my heart and I don't want someone carrying it in their souls..

I received multiple false accusations from a catholic organization (I know, the irony of it all, eh?) and by praying the rosary on my way to work and back to my home for a year liberated me from my own sins and it liberated me from the demonic oppression (inflicted on me through my accusers). I continue to pray the rosary everyday sometimes even up to 6 times a day and I always ask Mother Mary to bless the souls of those who harmed me. Therefore, I bless my enemies for their false accusations because they have unintentionally stirred me on a path of sanctification. SALVE MARIA!

When they talk about defeating evil by releasing attachments, I think of the Litany of Humility, I think it's called, where we even ask Our Lord to free us from the desire to be the holiest, as long as we are as holy as we are intended to be. One of the toughest yet most beautiful litanies. Love this priest!

I decided today after opening the new testament on John and Jesus explaining that we need to eat of gis body and drink of his blood that I want to convert to Catholicism. Since meeting someone who seemed like he had just stepped out of hell, I realised the reality of hell and decided I must become a church going Christian and learn more. Often at night I am harassed by demons and pray and pray, I didnt grow up at church and dont know many prayers so I really want to know more and hearing that the Rosary is "the weapon" I really need to learn it if anyone can suggest the easiest way how or a good book of the prayers of the Rosary. The other night I felt a negative influence as I was dreaming and tried to cross myself for protection, my hand was very heavy but I managed to and as I had just finished the cross and went to put my hand to my heart there was a huge surge of electricity in that hand and around me. It was instantaneous and very strong, it scared me somewhat. If anyone knows more about this, if it was of a spiritual nature I would love to hear any input.

Hi there precious one of God. Glory to God for leading you this far and God bless you for responding so generously to His invitation. If you're considering the Catholic faith, kindly identify any local Catholic parishes close to you or in any area you're interested in. You might need to narrow down to a particular number to make things easier for you. When you have done this, kindly contact the Parish Priest of these parishes about your intentions. Identify who is most receptive and responsive to your needs and schedule a time for a more detailed conversation with him and hopefully things would take off from there, if not, you might have to try other parishes until you find the right place. Ideally, you should receive a warm reception regardless of which parish you go to but sadly this has not been the experience of some people. I will keep you in my prayers, please keep on praying as well and don't give up. For help with the prayers of the Holy Rosary, I would recommend " rosary center.org." This is a website I consistently go to for help praying the rosary as I also struggled in the past with praying the rosary. It is an official website of the Dominican Friars of Western USA dedicated to promoting devotion to the holy rosary. They are also members of the global rosary confraternity. I sincerely hope you find this helpful.
