Good luck with your new job!! HCA roles are so important in a hospital. A friend of mine was a HCA in a cardiac theatre during her gap year. She loved it and went on to study... Geography!!
this is really good! being a HCA can actually help quite a lot in med school (i know people who used to do it before/during med skl) and there are areas that they are really good at because of what they've learnt. well done and good luck!! :))
Congratulations 🎉 glad to know you’ve found a job during current times. I’ve just got a job as a HCA at my local hospital! Going to apply for uni next year as I want to become a fertlity nurse. Got my induction in two weeks x

I’d really love to hear from you thanks hun xx
watched this video, used your advice, wrote a long personal statement, studied the job description, got shortlisted for d interview, used the key words during d interview, dressed well, got a call after 2 days that i had been selected for d nhs mental health band 3 role... Thanks
Brilliant and informative video! It's amazing to see what it's like on the frontline during these unprecedented times! I really appreciate the hard work and dedication of all NHS employees to help defeat this invisible killer! I applied for an Healthcare Assistant and emailed beforehand expressing my interest and asking if I could do it as an Apprenticeship. I was told they would let me do it as an Apprenticeship in a department which was happy. I literally applied with no experience just my passion and interest (I didn't even have a Care Certificate and I only had basic First Aid knowledge). I was invited to an Interview. I found the Interview alright not too hard. Fortunately and I'm very grateful, I was successful and I am going through security clearance. Being 18, it will be daunting but I can't wait to get started!

@@gopalgeorge3632 To be entirely honest I think more natural intelligence for me and that’s why the teachers didn’t give me good cags🙄 But hard work can get you anywhere! can I ask what year you’re in?
From my understanding, Healthcare Assistant jobs are very full on and and a lot of hours. If you are looking for a hospital-based job that might be a little more flexible, I’d recommend maybe looking for a job as a Porter. From my understanding, it’s slightly less intense than other hospital jobs and generally more flexible with the hours you can work. If that doesn’t interest you, maybe apply for a job in COVID testing? Since the pandemic will inevitably end, it will give you the opportunity to earn money in Year 12 and focus on your studies more in Year 13. They’re also part time and flexible. I know people who work in both of these jobs who didn’t have prior clinical experience, so you might have more luck applying for these. Best of luck in your job search!
I’ve seen so many hca jobs available and they said they would give u an interview on the spot and tell you if you get it or not on the same day but I’m still in uni 😭 I’m graduating soon I just can’t wait to leave so I can apply for a hca role and progress onto my masters. You don’t need any healthcare assistant experience as they train you my friend is currently in the role. Have you gotten a starting date? What information do they share in terms of wards like are you able to rotate? And how do they check proof of qualifications? Did you want hospital or care homes more?
