In the past few weeks, there has been some noteworthy progress in ChatGPT, and especially in GPT-4.
GPT-4 is about 100 times better than ChatGPT already, so it's time to discuss what it could bring to the table in medicine and healthcare and what we can expect from future iterations.

Excellent summary of the opportunity here and the ways that we as users will need to adjust as we incorporate these tools into our day-to-day tasks. One clarification is that, although GPT4 was released just 5 months after ChatGPT, the work for the model was already in progress. Training for GPT4 wrapped in Aug 2022 and then the team spent ~7 months on additional model tuning. That said, it is incredible to see such differences between the two releases over a relatively short period.

How do you claim that gpt4 its 100times better than gpt 3. Open AI leadership have frequently confirmed that there’s no basis and this myth is being floated around without any real basis.

@@Medicalfuturist This article only mentions GPT-3 being 100 times larger than GPT-2. It does not mention GPT-4 being 100 times better than GPT-3. Furthermore, the visualisation used at 1:01 was discussed in the Lex Friedman Podcast with Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO). In that podcast, Sam expressed that he didn't know where the idea that GPT-4 has 100T parameters came from and Lex apologised and explained that he accidentally started that rumour by miss-labelling a diagram he used during one his MIT lectures. Andrews Ngs position is even worse than the six months moratorium, since he's 100% fine with restricting AI for the plebs. He just wants research to go on. AI for what in practice will be the elite, but not the plebs. That's the worst possible option. If we don't keep AI democratized (and that means *direct* access, not just eg ”doctors using AI for your benefit” or ”you need to be a professional to use AI”), we should burn it to the ground, or we'll get a ridiculous level of inequality where some part of the population have access to a god-like tool and others don't.
