I think every mom worries at some point about what her child eats. I wanted my son to have better eating habits than me from an early age, and here are some things that we do in our home to instill a good relationship with food. Hope some of these at least get you thinking about it.
Having said that, toddlers are quite unpredictable and I'm crossing my fingers (figuratively) as I write this!
A little about me:
I'm Vidya, a mom to a 2 year old little boy. When I'm not talking about trucks and cleaning up messes, I make videos about pregnancy and new mommyhood. I would love for you to join me on this journey!

Thanks for watching!!

So helpful. Thank you for the video. Can you please do a Video how and what did you give to your son to encourage self eating. I am petrified about baby led weaning. My baby almost choked when he was 6.5 months. Ever since he’s spoon fed. Now he’s almost a year and he only feed himself the melty puffs. I know it’s my fault. Really appreciate if you can give few tips on what types and how to do it without risking of choking. Much appreciated.

Excellent points Vidhya. Very important and less talked upon. Especially about avoiding labels and being aware of your own assumptions. A right attitude in this matter will greatly affect a new human beings attitude on food.

New subscriber🙌 I made so many mistakes as a first time mom but all of which brought me to information such as this, thank you for your brilliant & informative content. Though changes are challenging for my bub and me, we are getting there slowly especially about healthy eating habits. My bub is 1.5 yo. Binge watching all your videos and taking notes. I get the feeling I will be implementing for the most parts, information that resonates with us. Bless you Vidya🙏

New subscriber....I did this mistake... earlier I introduced solids to my kid he was a good eater...but later he started to refuse food so I started to give him pureed food....but now it's became a habit for him....now he is a 2 yr old...but he never shows his interest in any kind of food...☹️

Will do a food video, but try to incorporate your everyday meals into your child's diet. For starting self feeding I have some tips on my starting solids videos.

I'm trying to get my 11 month old move on to finger foods and self feeding. This video was really informative. Especially what you mentioned about the amount of food they eat as they grow older. My boy has kind of decreased his food intake a bit in terms of my "measurements" and I was actually worried if it's ok! :)

Thank you so much for your informative video! My question is, my child starts making noises or throwing the food out after two spoons of his solid food. Then I have to distract him and force feed him a bit. Does he like throwing off the food? Or is he not hungry that time? He is 8 months old.
@shilpaprasoon2706
@shilpaprasoon2706 5 лет назад
Your child is exploring the food, taste and texture, forcefeeding will just take away the fun of eating from the child. Let there be mess, its temporary. Till 1 yr milk is the main source of nutrition so dont worry about quantity

I gave organic valley string cheese, although he loved Babybel cheese even more. As long as it is pasteurized.

You spoke my mind Vidya! Always Love your content. I would also like to add that kids might not want to eat the entire meal in one go or in one style.which is fine. My 21 MO daughter likes to expt with different eating styles...I feed her some morsels by hand, she likes to imitate me and tries to feed herself... The next four spoons she would like to use a spoon the next four morsels she likes to put her fingers together like a big spoon and scoop out food to eat. Sometimes she wants me to make a round ball of food and place it on her palm so can pick it up with her fingers and eat. So it's ok to let them make a mess and take their time and figure out how to use their hands/fingers/cutlery. All these are signs that's the child is actually interested in food. So she eventually most of the times finishes what's on her plate or gestures and waves her hands to say " Enough. Iam full". Like you said, I am happy as long as she is happy and active.

Thank you for adding that and sharing your experiences. That's an excellent point, don't rush them and embrace the mess. Patience is key!
