This has been my staple grocery shop lately... minus the liver, but it was such a great price 😅 13:19 I had to get it, well have to see if Sagey likes/notices its there 😉
My girl (15 month) loves her liver it’s so rich in flavor - great idea to have Sage try and sneak it in sauces as well! We sneak beef bone marrow in our pasta sauce also, such a hit, full of omegas and fats it’s easy and yummy!!
This is my kind of haul! I love watching these but cringe when ppl get food that isn't organic or has horrible ingredients. We need more ppl like you and Bobby Parrish from FlavCity!
Anchovies on pizza are yummy! Just keep in mind that a little goes a long way, so definitely start small. I especially love anchovies and capers together!
Can you make a video on what to look at when purchasing food? How to read nutrition labels, what am I looking for, what things to avoid in ingredient lists, etc.? So frustrating how things are marketed to appear healthy, and I dont always feel confident in what I am looking for when it comes to reading the nutritional facts! HELLPPPPPP. P.S. I am a mom of an 18 month old boy and want to be sure what I am feeding myself and my son is what's best
Sooo helpful! Yes here in Melbourne, Australia the price of groceries has gone up so much. Anecdotally some things are 100% more expensive, others would be 30%. We are also two adult one toddler household and will be looking at purchasing food on special/in season rather than being inspired by a random recipe. Having said that though would LOVE to see you do a video on what you eat in a week.
From another Australian based in Sydney, this is always inspirational even if you cannot implement it personally due to financial constraints. I review this content purely based on ideas rather than affordability because we can always fit it into our own family framework and budget constraints. I am not sure of how the prices differ between Sydney and Melbourne but I would guess very little. My advice to you would be to buy frozen fruits homebrand in addition to frozen vegetables ie spinach and the $2 iceberg lettuce bags but pick those from the latest expiry date. In terms of herbs, fresh vegetables, fresh spices and fish - go to your local Asian Green Grocer because these are phenomenally overpriced at Woolworths and Coles. Low fat Yoghurt from Aldi in addition to rice and noodles.
Food prices have went up forsure. Love that you want Sage to have homemade first. Since you did shop at a health food store my guess would be that you spent maybe 🤔 $300. Health is Wealth I love watching your grocery hauls.
look for the ones only with salt, like Bubbies brand for pickles, sauerkraut etc. I've never found fermented olives. If they're preserved in vinegar that's not probiotic kind.
@@loric1909 hmm that's odd. The ones I buy never have vinegar in the ingredients list; only olives, water and salt. And I usually just buy a no name brand, nothing fancy. You are right though! Food preserved in vinegar is NOT fermented/probiotic rich. Fermenting is a type of pickling, but pickled does not always mean fermented.
Hi Nikole new subscriber here! Just saw your smoothies. I have a vitamix and a nutri bullet. I've got to purchase the frozen fruits and raw veggies and then I'll start making the smoothies that you mentioned. Great idea to add other veggies other than the typical spinach. So glad I came across your channel.
Hi Nicole, I just found your channel by one of your shorts that u did about smoothies. So I watched a few of your videos about making smoothies. I just want to say thank you, cause I have been looking for vids to help me with what to put in a smoothie lol. I printed out one of your smoothie recipes, so now finally I feel confident after watching you do it so basic, and made things so simple to understand. I just started taking Metamucil for about 4 days now, due to having IBS, and I’m wondering if I should wait to take the smoothie till things hopefully get better with Metamucil. I just don’t want the smoothie to cause a lot of cleaning out the pipes too much 😂🤣I know TMI 😂 But seriously though I was hoping to making one for supper. Is it ok to take it anytime of the day or evening? Should I wait to take the smoothie in the morning? Great video by the way, and your daughter is beautiful like her Mama ❤
Hi!!! Inhame is something different for us in Brazil! It is a root vegetable like potatos but has brown “hairy” skin and is not as sweet! Also very yummy tho!! Bet the supermarket named it wrong on that one!!
Guessing $250, cost of groceries has gone up everywhere I think. I shop at a Grocery Outlet store so I can find a lot of organic and similar health foods there for a nice discount. They don't always have the same things, but they usually have all the normal staples.
All of my babies eat liver, i love it, in my country it's actually recommended to put it in baby's food, because it is soo good for iron 😊 goes great with sauteed onions. Hope Sage likes it!
I hope she does too, it was that and kidneys I refused to eat as a child that was nauseating to me. I loved and ate everything else. It is however very high in vitamin B so there is that.
I told my sister in law to start bringing her own food or eat before she comes because of how expensive food is she doesn't eat alot but still am I wrong for that she was not happy with me about it. I explained that it was because of how expensive food is even canned goods are going up I told her that thank goodness it's just me and my husband
Anchovies on pizza are a hard no for me, lol. Do you give Sage stevia-sweetened chocolate chips? I love Lily's myself, but my daughter is also dairy free and I've been having trouble finding dairy free chocolate chips that have no added sugar as I'm trying to avoid added sugar for my daughter entirely until she is 2 and I plan to limit it after that because we have a strong family hx of type 2 diabetes. I'd just like to hear your perspective on this. Thanks!
I am from India, I watch almost all your videos, interesting videos ...I have one doubt regarding breads. You can not make bread without yeast or baking soda from my knowledge ,is that good for your health?? .
I’m curious about how you prepare the liver. I’ve been experimenting with it a lot lately with my little one. I’ve found marinating it first helps take down the intensity of the flavour and pairing it with strong flavours (curry, mustard, fermented foods) makes it more palatable. And, I’m careful not to cook it too long or it gets rubbery. Would love to know what you figure out with this superfood to make it tasty!
I think only in north America are the two vegetable names interchangeable. A yam is a completely different plant to sweet potato...they are huge, brown with creamy coloured flesh, more starchy than sweet potatoes. I think they predate sweet potatoes in terms of cultivation but that's actually just a guess. Yam is a major component of west african dishes and I think sweet potato originally comes from south america? Ok that's also a guess but for sure in most parts of the world yam and sweet potato are different vegetables!
Are you grocery prices being raised? Here in the U.S. our grocery prices are thru the roof. Ppl are struggling to buy a quarter of that amount of food.
Hello! Any tips on how to get my one year old to eat meat? He’s never liked it 🥲 I don’t want to force it on him but it would be nice for him to get some extra protein
Don't worry! My kids did not eat meat when they were very little, it was absolutely fine. Red lentils was a hit, I often pureed them with veggies. As well as hummus, split peas. All good sources of protein (and iron) As well as eggs, yogurt...
pasta sauces are a great way to add them in. I have a veggie packed beef and lentil pasta sauce recipe in The Baby HealthNut Cookbook you should def check out!
