Any time I feel stressed, anxious, lost, uncentered, etc. I can watch your videos and immediately feel better. You have such a familiar feeling and presence that is so comforting even over the screen!! Thanks for all the time and energy you put into sharing yourself with all of us!! 💜
Great ideas! I need to work on better breakfasts, I tend to be too lazy about that in the mornings. Something I’ve been doing regularly in the mornings for the last couple of years is to read a chapter of the Bible, journal and pray. I found it helps me a lot in many ways. I don’t have a music recommendation but would be interested in what you listen to!
I would definitely describe myself as a night owl, I’m not a morning person, but my therapist and I have been working to shift me to waking earlier and having a more consistent morning schedule to help my mental health. It’s been difficult but interesting to explore different ideas to help me enjoy mornings more. Currently waking up and having a cup of tea and time to read something for pleasure vs news or social media is what I’ve been trying.
I little prayer in the morning, especially when feeling a lot of anxiety (something you might find increases when you become a mom). Asking for protection, guidance, and happiness are always my main points. Love from Michigan!
Hello from Afghanistan. You filmed this video right when I needed it and wanted to create my morning routine Thank you so much for giving us your energy and time😊
Oo love all these ideas! I do most of them in my evening routine instead though. One thing I would add to your list is enjoying the ritual for a skincare routine, and maybe even a little face massage to wake me up on the extra sleepy mornings 😂
Theres a video on RU-vid I love to play in the morning. Its titled 'By the Sea - calm acounstic pop best of Daniel Gunnarsson' so so good for the start of the day or a chill vibe :D
I loved all these, you speak my language. I’m going to try it all. I’d add reading some verses of poetry in the morning like ‘Mary Oliver’s - Devotions’ that can offer some emotional clearance for the day. Journaling is great, I start every morning journaling. I love your simplicity in everything, it’s very tasteful and soothing.
I do drink water first thing every morning, drink more teas and I MUST listen to sft music when going thru my emails at work. These are great suggestions!😀💞 I used to get up a little earlier so that when I was already for work I could lay back down for a few minutes before leaving.😌
My routine in the morning is toss on some nice music, grab a water and check my white board for the days plan. On my white board is my weakly meal plan and the days tasks.
As I wake up, I have a short poem that I say in gratitude for 24 more hours to live and vow to live them fully, to see others with compassion. I do some back and leg exercises while lying in bed and listening to a dharma talk from the plum village app in bed, then I make my bed. I fill the bird feeder and water tray, then make my coffee, drink a warm glass of water first then sip on my coffee while reading something related to my meditation practice while listening to yoga radio on pandora. Then I meditate from 5 - 20 min, but usually 10, before eating a healthy breakfast. Then I soak in a hot bathtub while doing a series of hand exercises. Dress and walk calmly and refreshed to my car, heading off to work.
favorite music in the morning is an artist named Ravenna. sooo beautiful , dreamy music. her album Lucid is the first thing to play in the mornings for the past few yearsss
I also don't drink coffee for health reasons, but my personal "coffee" recently i use to replace coffee is cacao powder, maca and pinch ginger "coffee" with half and half plant milk and water. super creamy taste and full of health benefits. I don't miss coffee anymore since.
The first the thing I do is check in on an app on my phone, but I don't think it counts, it tells me good morning, it shows me the goals I have for the day. I use it for a breathing exercises and stretches to help me wake up. I can also use relaxing soundscapes, and I can write in response to journal prompts. This app is like a journal but in a better format for me and reminds me to do helping things to look after myself.
I am trying to eat healthier...I didn't use to eat anything until dinner. I would snack on junk foods all day long. My health has caught up to me, so now I'm trying to look out for me. I've quit my job cause of my health.. Starting to eat better. I have only one question right now..how long should you snack in between breakfast and lunch? I've lost alot of weight..but now I'm trying maintain my normal weight. I'm 118 pounds and 4 feet 11 inches. Which is ok if I start to gain a little. I was 135 when I started losing weight. Please let me know what you think?
I want to start drinking water in the morning but I have a 9 month old and I am straight away sorting her out. Maybe putting in a bottle ready on my bedside might help x
I put a glass of water by my bed at night. I'll usually drink a few sips before I go to sleep and then I finish it when I get up. (I don't mind it room temp but a good insulated travel cup or bottle and a few ice cubes should work if you prefer it colder.)
Or make a bottle of lemonwater (or water with berries just for some taste) you keep in the fridge so it's easy to drink when you feel like it. I do that 2 times a week and drink one glass of it every morning.
