Literally obsessed with your videos! I passed my LVN NCLEX a few weeks ago and your nursing vids literally helped me get through VN school. I plan on going all the way to my BSN! Thanks for always being a huge inspiration and your motivating vids and instagram stories! So glad I discovered your videos!💖
I'm curious as to how you prepped your meals or what type of foods you ate throughout nursing school. I start nursing school this week and I'm concerned with my meals since I'll be on a budget like most nursing students. Love your videos ❤️ you're a great inspiration!
Sara Salazar I congratulations on starting your nursing school. I am preparing to take the HESI test for nursing school. Definitely agree about learning prep and know what kind things to pack for nursing school. Good luck 👍🏼 in school.
Congrats! I brought an air popper to make popcorn during study sessions, Hummus with flat pretzel chips or carrot slices are amazing. I would make omelette muffins a lot to be able to have a good breakfast. I tried to avoid only drinking coffee, however I would rather drink that than I would energy drinks. We had a fridge and freezer assigned to my cohort to use with it being cleaned out often, but I would always keep a freezer meal (the fresh steamers meals I think are great) just in case I am starving and do not have enough time to go home. There was also a time where I would order Dominos $5 if you order a few pizzas and whatever I did not eat I would put into Ziplock bags and freeze to reheat if I wanted something unhealthy at midnight. Beware if you are a stressed out snacker, you may want to lean towards healthier options, or portioning out what you can eat everyday. One of my biggest tips with studying is that the night before an exam, do NOT stay up studying past midnight, you need to have rest in order for your brain to function properly, you can review a little bit before the exam to refresh on lab levels or disease processes, but if you do not know it by the night before the exam, then you probably will not understand it.
Just pick whatever cheap and healthy foods you enjoy that do not spoil quickly. They should also be foods that keep you full for awhile. Exercise is great for stress too.
Thanks for sharing your snack ideas! I work 14+ hr shifts and I like having snack options. I have a major sweet tooth so I’m definitely trying out those muffins.
I’m not a nurse, but I also work night shift. (I’m looking into nursing school though.) Thank you for all these food ideas and awesome products to look into. Eating is sometimes difficult throughout the shift. It has been brought to my attention that I need to workout and need some nutrition/ vitamins in my life.
I needed this!! Starting my own health journey, & I love the thought of intuitive eating but it's kinda hard when you are clueless to nutritional facts🤦♀️ but watching this gives me good ideas! Love you & your vids❤
Wasn't mentioned in this vid, but I know you've mentioned the Alani energy drinks, I'm trying them for the first time tonight! So excited. #nightshiftnurselife
Love this! I’m a private practice medical massage therapist who treats those with chronic pain, anxiety, depression & PTSD- and I have a hx of all these myself. As I’m sure you can understand from your professional background in particular, self care is something that I absolutely need- but struggle with nearly every day. I’m always on the lookout for healthy, easy snack ideas, as I often put off eating until I start to feel nauseated (and having a low blood sugar spell in a 90 minute massage is NOT fun). Thank you so much for sharing!!
Im in nursing school and omg eating healthy is a big struggle #1 because I wanna be chewing on something at all times when I’m studying (not just from being stressed but i just need a lot of food) so I just reach for the unhealthy foods and #2 because I do not have time to cook n meal prep. How you guys eat healthy while in nursing school????
I know this comment is super old but if you still need good smoothie ideas I have some. I usually use whatever thing of frozen fruit or frozen fruit smoothie packs look good from walmart, a protein powder, and some type of milk. If you want some add ins to boost the nutrition or change it up, spinach, nut butters, yogurts, bananas or avocados are good. Additionally plain seeds or nuts can add some nutrition. Ex. Frozen mixed berries, coconut milk, protein powder, spinach, peanut butter, and chia seeds.
