Heaps is the largest permitted canyon in Zion National Park.
This is our first time there and we ran into low water level "hard mode" with water 2-3' below lips of keeper pot holes. Other than our usual rappelling, water jumping, scrambling, climbing, we also did quite a bit of bag toss and partner assists.
The canyon consist of West Mesa approach, drop into Phantom Valley, traverse through 2 shorter narrows in PV, then the sandy walk toward Terminal Narrow (which was a blast!), then up to the sequence of 3 final rappels, with the longest being close to 300'!
We would like to return during full water easy mode and blast through it :-)
The 2 team member who run hot wear wetsuits 5 and 7mm. The 2 team members who run cold wear fleece, drysuit,, and protective suit (caving suit for me).
