Two wrongs don't make a right. Police need to take people in alive if possible in order to get answers, closure, justice, and mental help for the person having the episode. Ideally if anything, less people should die by cop if the cop is not in immediate danger.

He had a psychotic break from untreated mental health issues. He was sober but not exactly lucid. He’s an extreme example of why mental health needs to be taken seriously.

In my opinion, I don't believe he wanted to, this case was absolutely horrifying and say because he definitely has something mentally wrong with him. He also screamed at the cops to kill him because he was eating people, he yelled that repeatedly. But that's just from what I remember, but no matter the circumstances, his doings were extremely wrong.

This news report was assumptions made before any drug testing after his arrest. He had a psychotic episode or so he claims but tested negative to all drugs with the exception of marijuana.

Marijuana can cause delusions and paranoia, im not saying that weed was the single factor that caused this, but if he was already suffering from mental health (which he was) and high then yes I personally think that could have been a contributor. Well yeah you only shoot if the suspect is an immediate danger to someone's life and you're trying to save them. If they're already dead and he's just eating their face you can't shoot him. It's not the officers' job to enact justice on the spot. That's what courts do.
