With a very little bit of cursory research, I found that even babies and children have gallbladder issues. Not stones, but other issues like dyskinesia that requires gallbladder removal.

interesting-I wonder how many doctors know this

Also thank you for sharing your story, your re telling had me quite captivated, your calmness made me feel more at ease as I sit here with the same symptoms, the heart attack symptoms are so real for me too. One time I had also had to tell the er that i was on the verge of a heart attack and they whipped me Straight in. But the self trial and error of things is so disheartening that we have to do these inquiries on ourselves first, just to be heard

It's so awful that doctors keep gaslighting us and we have to figure everything out ourselves. But unfortunately, it seems we have to-dont give up-keep trying to figure it out! Katie is definitely an inspiration having to advocate for herself at such extreme ways so young!

New to this topic/video bt been to ER & GP several times. Everyone says anxiety. Heart & everything always checked out. Just last night went to ER for sudden loss of breath goin up stairs at work. Never happened before. Lately been suffering from right side pain under ribs and between my shoulder blades. Not one Dr has mentioned gallbladder. Kidneys tho. I will be mentioning this to my GP to have mine checked when they do the renal ultrasound

Today’s doctors are overloaded with patients and few take any time to listen. You really have to do your own research, I could write a book on how many times I’ve been right and the doctors were wrong.

12:53 "so young and so healthy and fit". I also had some nasty gallbladder problems at 21. It reminds me that I also was very young..

Old RN here. I used to get so tired of physicians refusing to listen to patients. They know their own body. I did a stint in OB and the mom was now completely dilated. I called the physician and he said, "That's impossible, she should only be six." I told him he'd better come because I didn't want to deliver the baby. He came and delivered the baby. LOL. I think they have a class in medical school teaching them not to listen to RNs or to the patients because they do not know anything.

I so agree! I have a family of doctors and even they refuse to listen to me-in fact, I think they are worse. I think some of the younger, especially women, doctors are getting a bit better-I would love to hear more from a nurse's perspective at some point

Gallbladder sludge is not easily picked up by doctors' standard tests.

It seems a lot of things are not picked up on standard doctors' tests-they need to start considering things that aren't able to be picked up-but they rely on their tests so much and believe if none of their tests have found anything then nothing is wrong-so frustrating!

Most doctors treat us all like that, it's not a woman vs man thing.

I pretty much agree with you. Years ago, medical gaslighting was more likely to happen to women. But these days, when doctors spend such limited time with us, it's happening to everyone. The system seems completely broken to me.

Im in this position now, no one wants to listen to me no matter the times Ive been to the ER or primary care, it feels like an organ is dying (gallbladder) right rib pain, nausia, warm after meals, highted heartrate after meals, pain in right shoulder, itchy skin. They say if my gallbladder is inflamed Ive would have been in a high fever or womiting. I have stones. Yet no one wants to do a Hida scan, i want my life and sanity back

@@Hanna-zv5uo Ugh-I'm so sorry to hear this! Have you tried a teaching hospital? keep trying doctors-I know it sucks, but hopefully you will eventually find the right one. Maybe you can try to write some doctors in advance and tell them your symptoms and see if they have any ideas. Sadly, most will blow you off-but you only need one to respond. Sending positive, healing thoughts your way

I had gallbladder sludge and into my bile duct. It took me 15 months to have my gallbladder removed and the bile ducts cleaned out. Nobody should have to suffer that long. I’m still having some pain in my back right side. Two weeks in recovery, I hope it will subside soon. Take good care Everyone!!❤️‍🩹
