kinda cool how 3 of 4 playoff titles have been amazing games... looking back on the bcs and just for example when bama blew out ND by 30+ points there was no competition in that game... but in the play off system it seems like the two best teams play everytime

What a great comeback, and Saban is the best coach in the game ever. His decision to play his backup QB in the second half of a national championship game will go down in history. Alabama is going to be something next year! Started watching Bama this season because of Tua and every time he came in on a blow out he delivered. Such good connection with the guys especially the receivers. Ridley couldve finished the year with more yards and catches. Love how everyone bails on Jalen Hurts after Tua comes in and wins. Jalen Hurts got them to the national campionship twice, with a record of 25-2. The two of them together (Hurts/Tua) would be a solid tandem, but to just throw Hurts to the side now is somewhat irrational.

Nathan Blythe and that's not a bad thing. Alabama is also set up very nicely for the years to come. Tbh, I don't see auburn having the amount of success next season as they had this season. Their QB is Great no doubt tho but Alabama needs better competition in the SEC.

What sold me on tua was when he said he looked off the safety long enough for him to throw the touchdown....I don't think jalen even looks at any of his reads past ridley and the running backs. Could you only imagine the numbers on offense if tua was the starter..Robert foster and ridley would be 1000 yard receivers each
D Joe, that's not accurate. The complaints from the wr's out of practice was that Jalen does not read. He only throws to a receiver if he's wide open. There are comments from foster and Ridley available online about receivers being open and not getting the ball. It's why Saban put in tua, it was also hitting the recruiting trail that Jalen can't throw or distribute the ball. The kid is not a great qb ...simple
He is a terrible QB maybe if he was in the mountain West or Pac 12 he would be fine throwing the ball, but the complexity of defense in the SEC is just too much for him and he just doesn't have the natural tools of a QB. He shouldn't leave though because he isn't going to do any better anywhere else he goes because he will have less talent to work with than alabama. He might as well become a running back his instinct as a rusher is miles ahead of his passing and his vision is great! He probably will never take another snap as a QB alabama unless it's mop up duty.
I love tua, I think he's very humble, respects himself and others, respects God and makes sure people knows it, there is no way he could have done that without Gods favor behind him, what he did was close to miraculous, and I'm not a fan of either one, but I may be a bama fan here soon

I've been saying the same thing. After watching how he performed at Vandi I knew Tua was the QB bama needs and Hurts is an OK running back. But in all fairness Hurts got his team to 2 championships, he just couldn't perform last night. Props to both players.
Jalen is a good qb It’s just that the oc calls plays that don’t fit jalen they know his accuracy isn’t all that but they make plays to were he can throw to short routes

Coming from an Auburn fan I agree with Kirk Herbstreit. This is by far the best coaching job Saban has done since he's been there. With all the season ending injuries and small injuries, he had to go to the bench and coach those young players up. Shutting down a good Clemson offense and a 2nd half performance against UGA and putting in a freshman in the biggest game. I wish Malzahn could make big time adjustments in big time games. 1-4 in big games is no adjustments
Now sit back and watch how good Alabama will be these upcoming yrs with Hurt's on the bench on Tua in the driver seat. Tua will bring a new life to this team, Hurt's just is not a QB he needs to accept that.
I would love to see Hurts and Tua kind of like Leak and Tebow a few years back. Tua is a better passer, but Hurts is the better athlete. Kind of let them each do their own thing.
Hurts got Bama there twice, and last year made what could have been a winning TD play. He can't throw, but he did enough until today. Hats off to Jalen
CrimsonTide Now I'm beginning to question if you know football or not. Jalen Hurts left our All Star defense on the field the whole night last year. If he was half the passer tua is we would have beaten Clemson by 3 or more touchdowns last year. Recount all the times he held the ball instead of making a solid pass through a window like a high caliber quarterback would do playing for Alabama.
tua is a winner i called it when alabama went in i said tua be in when they come back out to have the passing game back on no disrespect to jalen but jalen a run first type guy but tua can rip you apart first off he knows how to read the defense second his timing rhythm is on getting the ball out quick its all about timing and leading your rec on the deep ball and hes able to lead them to the windows when they rush
It’s bitter sweet because I root for Jalen and Tua. I know Saban is gonna try to y’all Jalen into staying but I’m pretty sure their are teams with their mouth water wanting to bring Jalen in on their team just because of his leadership qualities and and athleticism.
