I can tell you as someone who works in the ER and is headed to work here shortly, we are very tired and I have seen a lot of RNs leave the ER. It is very frustrating.

I am a retired nurse and I whole heartedly agree. Hospital staff work as a team, especially in crises and they are all vulnerable. They are all true heroes.
The US is so privileged to even have easy access to these vaccines. I live in a developing country and people line up at 11pm to get vaccinated at 6 in the morning. I'm talking about seniors and people with comorbidities here. The quantities are extremely limited so they have to be early. Most people end up just going home without a vaccine and they just line up again the next night, hoping they would get lucky this time around. They don't even find out the brands of the vaccine until it's their turn. You guys have no idea how good you have it.

I would understand if the vaccine sites still had crazy lines and not enough vaccines to meet demand, but that hasn't been the case for any US adult for months. It takes like half an hour at most vaccine sites if they don't have a big line. Check in, get a shot, get scheduled for a second shot if it was your first one, wait for fifteen minutes to see if there were side effects, then go about the rest of your day.

Though she was vaccinated, she came very close to death...it took intubation, ventilator, convalescent plasma transfusion, and other life saving measures that you guys handled with the most delicate care. We don't know about her immune system, if she is asthmatic, undergoing other treatments for cancer or heart conditions or diabetes. BUT, the point that goes over the head of people like you is, she said her mother is going to make it and survive. THAT is the important part about vaccinating. To get your immune system boosted enough to survive a break through infection. Your chances are much better for survival with a vaccine, especially Pfizer or Moderna. And soon, you cannot call the vaccines experimental because by September , if not sooner, Pfizer's vaccine will have full FDA approval. Finally, numbers do not lie. Actual numbers, not statistics. Unvaccinated people of all ages are filling up all the ICU beds all over the South. A lot do not survive. There are very few who are vaccinated who are even hospitalized. So how much is your life and the lives of your family worth to you? A free vaccine's worth or not even as much as free?

The Unvaccinated numbers are , literally, overwhelmingly higher. So are their death numbers. And not just the elderly. Children up to Seniors are sick and dying or surviving but with long haul covid symptoms. Vaccines are free. Is your life at least worth free? Is your family at least worth free? The vaccine was able to be developed so quickly bc scientists already understood the general family of the coronavirus. The Covid-19 isnt the same but close enough that the previous research allowed scientists a jumpstart and instead of having to map the Gene's, they could focus on a vaccine.

I'm the worse procrastinator in almost every part of my life with the exception of my job!! I took my daughter to get her vaccination my was scheduled for a week later. The offered it to me that day I cried 😭😭 feeling so blessed to get it a week early!! God bless everyone!! 💔🙏😓

I had Covid Jan 2020 and was left with neurological issues, occipital neuralgia, the worst headaches, increased asthma. The vaccine has such small chances of a side affect whereas Covid itself can cause such awful issues and life long issues. I applaud you for going to get the vaccine
Please do. My mom passed late December halfway around the world. Two weeks later my brother passed here in California. Back then there was no vaccine. Both couldn’t breathe. Glad you are getting vaxed.
The part were the lady said she was doing well till the bottom fell out. That was my close friends boss. She said it was not big deal and it was like a bad cold. 3 days later, after saying it was just like a bad cold, she got worse. Her husband brought her to work and called the ambulance for her from there to get her to the hospital. Very bad traffic that day for him to take her. She kept saying it was hard to breath and her head hurt really bad. My friend watched them put her on the stretcher and waved bye to her. While on the way to the ER she crashed in the back of the ambulance. Again at the hospital she crashed. She was just 50. She was very healthy. She worked out all the time with her husband. She had a brain aneurysm. She, her husband, and daughter all caught it, they were all unvaccinated.. 3 other people got it at the job, 1 unvaccinated, 2 were. The 2 that were vaccinated, returned to work in 2 weeks. The 1 other one is just now getting back to work after a month and 1/2. It was so sad to see my friend suffer the lost of her boss/close friend. I live in Florida, it was the Delta variant they all got.
Just so sad and unnecessary. I have a friend who is also healthy and not vaccinated. I have comorbidities and got vaccinated as soon as I could. I can't see her because she's not vaccinated. She doesn't get it. She thinks because she is thin and healthy she'll be fine. I hope she stays fine, but I won't see her in person any more. A

A friend of my mother got Covid 19. She was a health nut, doing yoga and weight lifting. She had the physique of an athlete. Basically, she was in perfect health. Except she refused to get any vaccines after falling down the Trump anti-vax rabbit hole. This included the covid vaccine. She died in 2021. Tell me, was she an actor?!

Those vaccines have been around for decades with time to study side effects. All the people that rushed out to get the rushed vaccine are test subjects, maybe I'll consider it getting that shot in a decade, but I doubt it...I've never worried to much about the flu

Hair splitting requirements for certification have increased dramatically… it’s pretty simple. I get a flu shot every year and I’ve never had the flu.
@@joedominguez9437 the chances of getting a nasty case of Covid are way higher then getting after effects of the vaccine down the line: the vaccine is new, but the method has been conceptualized for some time, it’s not as experimental as you might think it is. For one, the vaccine is genetics based, but that doesn’t mean your genome is adapted, it’s not that invasive.

He "didn't have time" to get vaccinated but he had time to go fishing for hours. Getting vaccinated takes, at most, 30 mins and that's if you don't get an appointment online. It took me less than 10 minutes the first time and less than 5 minutes for my second dose. So, how much time did this guy save by not getting vaccinated but then spending days in the hospital? My son (10yo 5th grade) is wearing his mask to school everyday, even if they say they can't or don't have to. Until the Infectious Disease experts tell us it's cool! Though, I'm a Rideshare driver and I know a bunch of drivers from Iberia. They tell me they are getting really bad there, as well. Hopefully it gets a little better, soon.
Yep, I'm still suffering from it, I now have COPD because of it. I'm only 53 but I'm going to have to spend the rest of my life on oxygen supplement 24/7. It takes a heartless person to want people to have to live that kind of life. And I am fully aware of the fact that I am still one of the lucky ones.

I work in a nursing home in the healthcare ward with the covid patients and it’s sooooooooooo time consuming just to change PPE for each room entry 😩 not to mention the specific care involved per patient. Healthcare workers are not doing well smh

It took me 30 minutes 2 times to walk into Walmart and get my vaccine while I picked up dog food on my way home from work. Not having time is a bs excuse.
HEB here in Texas. I went ahead and did my shopping while there, and there was no long wait to get it. They want someone to hang around for fifteen minutes in the store afterward, in the event that there is a reaction of any sort. I had no problems. I shopped a few minutes in the same department, got the shot and shopped afterward. It was one of the most convenient things I have ever had to do.
Getting vaccinated is as much about protecting OTHERS as it is about protecting you. The hospital bed YOU occupy because you got COVID-19 is a bed someone else cannot use for ANY other reason.

Had C19 was like the flu, was down for a few days. Wife got C19 they gave her antibodies she was back up in 3 days…so we both had it. Work made a mandate to get the Jab…I got JJ mid Nov and have had issues ever since. Now on 4 BP meds was never on meds, can’t workout Loss of feeling in my hands, every Dr in PNW I have been to wants to tell me…I’m just in bad health, go see Dr in any Red state and they want to file Vaer’s reports. All three patients they showed are in a demographic that puts them at higher risk. But they wont mention this. First two patients : Overweight ( It's obviously apparent ) Third patient : Elderly ( Stated she was 70 years old. ) Interesting how those facts are just ignored though, isn't it?
I have an extremely compromised immune system I got both shots I was sick for a bit because of a separate infection but I'd do it again my family and friends are worth it I love them more than myself 😉💜💙

I have Myasthenia Gravis a rare autoimmune disease I got vaccinated 3 months ago with flu like symptoms. Since then have been in quarantine 4 times because coming in contact with people who wasn't vaccinated they had to be hospitalized 2 didn't recover.
Selfish and stupid, so sure the medical system will be there to save them if and when things go bad. During WW2 the government had an all out advertising campaign in all aspects of life. Perhaps we need that kind of effort, ads on tv at every commercial break. PSA on the front page of every newspaper in the country every day. Make people so sick of hearing and reading the messages to get vaccinated, they will get the shot just to make the ads/PSA go away.

@Dean Doepke Did you lose your sense of smell? If so, be aware that about 50% of people who lost their sense of smell have had documented cognitive decline when tested. A few month before covid happened, there was a large study on cognitive ability, and thousands were tested. That created a baseline so that when those people were tested again, it was quite clear that about half if those who had lost their smell due to covid had a decline in cognitive functions. So, I wish you well and hope you are in the half that has not been affected.

You can still get after being vaccinated, the difference is that you could be asymptomatic or it will feel like the common cold. Also, you wont end up in the hospital.

First dude is getting a high flow nasal cannula with 40 liters per minute of 100% Oxygen blown up his nose (for reference regular nasal cannulae that you see on TV generally only go up to 4 lpm) and on top of that has a non-rebreathing mask running full flow, at least 15 lpm with 100% Oxygen. I'd bet that the only reason he's not on non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BIPAP machine and mask that have way more breathing support) is because they don't have any more machines available. You don't double up these two modalities unless you are down to plan C or D - they aren't meant for that.
Wow. That's scary. And he thinks he'll go home in a day or two? I'm vaccinated, thank goodness. I'm in Australia and we can't get enough vaccine. Our Prime Minister dropped the ball in ordering it - just don't get me started with how much of an idiot he is. Now one of our states has had an outbreak, a bad one. When it started 6 weeks ago only 6% of the population had been vaccinated. Now we're at 25%. All states have closed borders and made mask mandates and travel restrictions to curb the spread. We had a covid case 4 weeks ago, school kid, and went into an immediate month long lockdown. In that time 22 more kids ended up in hospital and some adults. Luckily, because of lockdown, they seem to have stopped the spread because all new cases were already in quarantine. It's scary stuff. Maybe 2% of Aussies are vaccine hesitant. The rest of us are champing at the bit to get vaccinated. Stay safe.
@@bobbarker14 Did I say he shouldn't? I agree he needs to be on Oxygen, likely for some time to come. As to the how and why, I'll leave that to the experts caring for him. He may well need supplemental Oxygen for several months. This seems to be common in persons suffering from Obesity during recovery. I did notice he was not Masked to minimize any viral spread which would seem to be a positive health indicator.
I am a retired RN. I give all healthcare workers my utmost respect. I don't think I could have done what they do, especially when most of this could gave been avoided.
My husband had covid. Due to complications he had a stroke. He had underlying health issues but his heart is now so badly damaged he needs a defibrillator/pacemaker. I'm not telling anyone what to do, just sharing our story. I've been exposed many times and I'm negative. God Bless Maxine, I hope she made a full recovery. 🙏

We're in a climate of distrust of readily available information--and just a flat-out refusal to listen in some cases. I made the choice to cut myself off from folks who even this week were angrily dismissive of the reality of this situation. At this point, we have to put up our personal barricades and focus on our own well-being when others refuse to acknowledge basic measures.
all the info is available if you have access to a TV, or a computer, or a newspaper, or friends and neighbours, and none of it is rocket science ... and wearing masks, along with social distancing, and not believing the likes of faux news are all pluses toward not getting the virus ... oh, and the vaccine has been around for months too, just as an afterthought
I wouldn't wish Covid on anyone and I hope these people all survive to tell others they should have been vaccinated. This video also really shows how these healthcare workers are brave and go to work every day in a highly risky environment. We would be completely toast without them!

Because no matter what the government says, wether they declare everything “open” or “closed” doesn’t matter, people won’t be out participating in the economy unless they feel SAFE. Ya, the dumdums will be at the bar the first night everything is open, but those aren’t typically the people with (a) the most secure jobs and (b) the most disposable incomes- in other words- they can’t prop up the economy. The intelligent people must feel SAFE. But when your party has been banking on making more people dumb to prop up your dwindling base, then dumb people BECOME the base, that’s who you are stuck pandering to. Abbot and his Lt. I don’t think we’ll have doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at this point. All healthcare workers are exhausted and can’t take the unvaccinated forever.
