Nach fünf Jahren Pause sitzen die Frontmänner von The BossHoss wieder auf Deutschlands berühmtesten roten Drehstühlen. Im Wettstreit mit den weiteren Coaches Yvonne Catterfeld, Mark Forster und Sasha batteln sich The BossHoss um die beste Stimme ab 60 - bei "The Voice Senior" ab 23. Dezember in SAT.1.
"Mit 'The Voice Senior' geben wir zum ersten Mal ganz bewusst einer älteren Generation die Chance, uns mit ihrer Stimme zu überzeugen", sagt Yvonne Catterfeld. "Das ist die Geburtsstunde eines neuen 'The Voice'-Universums", sagt Mark Forster. "Es ist das erste Mal, dass Sängerinnen und Sänger über 60 gegeneinander antreten", sagt Sasha. Moderiert wird "The Voice Senior" von Lena Gercke und Thore Schölermann.

Yeah, Dan did a fantastic job on this song. It is great that they did a Voice Seniors. Recognizing all the talented singers, who remained somewhat unknown. Arnel Pineda also did a fantastic cover of Alone. Reportedly, according to Wikipedia, Roy Khan (former lead singer of Kamelot) sang a cover of Alone in the shower at his high school. Prompting a classmate to ask him to join his band. Roy has a really great voice. He started out training to be an opera singer, but, decided he wanted to be a rock singer instead. Regardless, he is another great singer that is unknown to most of the world.

The Filipino guy who took Steve Parry’s place as Journey’s singer used to be in a band who would release their songs on RU-vid, which is how Journey discovered him. His band called The Zoo did Journey covers and Heart covers, strangely enough. That guy could nail Ann Wilson as perfectly as he could nail Steve Perry. He had a very high voice. That was the first time I ever heard a guy do Heart and do it fabulously. He’s a great talent. I’m glad Journey found him because he is a shoe in for Perry.

Bin mittlerweile 74 und war bis vor einem Jahr selber 40 Jahre lang Sänger in einer Oldie-Rockband - aber Dan hat eine einmalige Stimme, er ist kein "Talent", er ist eine stimmgewaltige Offenbarung - großen Respekt!

Love the senior editions. For years this has been a missing element due to the industry being tailored and marketed to young people. The Voice took a chance on the adult population and scored big.

I am a fan of this music for my whole life. My favorite singers are all the big rock voices like Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Klaus Meine, Axel Rose and so on. But I must say they are no competition for Dan Lucas. For me his voice and his singing is the best I've ever heard in my entire life. I mean the man is over 60 and I think he's a whole step above the legends when they were in their 20's

Der Song wird im Original von einem Mann gesungen. Er stammt nicht von Heart (die haben "nur" gecovert), sondern von der Gruppe i-Ten (Tom Kelly & Billy Steinberg, die z.B. auch Eternal Flame für die Bangles und Like a Virgin für Madonna komponiert hatten) aus dem Jahr 1983.

Das ist richtig, aber diese Version gefällt mir nicht so sehr wie die von Heart. Darauf war jetzt das "Original" bezogen, weil er ja diese Version (von Heart) nachgesungen hat. ;)@@mirkohirsch_official
