Celtic well target Taverneir by putting the ball over the top of him and he can't handle that. They won't try that with Ridvan because it won't work with him, however I agree, it is worrying that he can't defend the back post

I honestly don't know how you can say tavernier has only lost a yard this year. Another example of his stats hiding his poor defensive qualities that have been there for years.
Tavernier is top of the tree in the world of all defenders goals at 132.even the likes of Roberto Carlos has 67(the same number as tavs pens btw). Without his 132 goals where would Rangers be with strikers failing to find the net?we'd lose most games
His PRIMARY job is to defend and I've send 14 year olds defend better, much better. Yes, he's scored a lot of goals but had we recruited decent strikers we wouldn't be talking about that amount of goals for him. We had a reasonably decent one in Colak but we let him go.
@@alanmcnamara7643 14 years olds can't defend better than Tavenier. That is a ridiculous thing today. Without Tav we wouldn't even be in a title race. Clement wants him to come inside and get forward to open the game up. At his age its hard to up and down the park for 90 mins. He would defend better if that was his sole purpose. All that said I'd like us sign a good proven young RB

The players in the academy clearly aren't good enough to step up into first team .any player at any age if they are good enough don't need 40 games to build it up ..if you're good enough you should be able to step in when required..that is why our youth is only used sparingly as they are not good enough to make that step up
We're not in a terrible position, there is room for cautious optimism. What players has clement had to work with, who have been fit most of the time? Butland Tav Goldson Souttar Sterling Lundstram Cantwell Diomonde Silva Dessers Mcausland Considering that, i think we have a decent manager. If he were to fight to keep tav, goldson, barisic, and lundstram id lose faith as hed be fighting to keep guys who are serial runners up, who could only win the league when there were no fans there. In a way we dont really know how good the others could be with a new captain and vice captain bringing a clean slate and new psychology. He has polished a turd, and i dont think any manager could change that psychology in those players. We definitely need new signings as a team of; Butland Sterling Souttar/king Balogun/davies Yilmaz Raskin Diomonde Cantwell/Dowell Mcausland Dessers/Danilo Matondo/Lawrence Is good enough to beat the rest, most of the time, but i dont see the inspiration, and cant see that being good enough to win the league, we need new leaders in that squad.
Earlyish in the game, we got a free kick about 30 yards out. Cantwell and Raskin were over it. This was Tav territory. I just wonder if he was maybe carrying a wee niggle....
