Not sure if this is covered on NCLEX but just a couple of things for people be aware of: Morphine is given less these days as it can reduce the effects of the anticoags clopidogrel/ticagrelor that we give. It's usually only given if absolutely nessesary. Also, ideally O2 is not given at all unless the patient's SpO2 is

Super informative video! My mom had a heart attack a few months ago and she didn’t know until she went for a regular cardiologist visit. Also I’m very impressed on how fast you draw and how good they are:)

Same here. Cardiologist has to diagnose three things: symptoms had, ECG, and the traponin blood tests. A patient needs to have experienced all three to be diagnosed with a heart attack. Traponin levels are never good, always means the heart muscle has partial or full necrosis of one chamber, minimum.

Hello! Statins have lipid lowering effect plus anti inflammatory effects. During the acute phase we don't hope to lower the cholesterol significantly by giving Statins but more like we use the anti inflammatory effects of it.

Overall, good video. However, warfarin is not used in the treatment of heart attacks.

Well that's strange as I had exactly what he talked about stemi troponin 38,900..and all the meds he described. LV heart working at 35 - 40%...all meds and the warfarin for life...that was 3 yrs ago next week. So he IS right...All meds to treat my heart attack, and for life.

First, excellent videos! However, nitrates haven't been shown to reduce morbidity and mortality.

Where I work we usually do TNK. And its given if the patient cannot be transported for PCI within 120 minutes. So its given a lot in smaller community hospitals.

Intensive care bahahaha hum bug! Not with public health care. I was put in a regular ward, after mine. Had all the monitors on. They didn't know ide had an attack until 2 days after, after many traponin tests. My heart attack wasn't due to a blockage or PE. My heart muscle was dying and I didn't even get offered a panadol. I don't know what diagnosis I have yet either, after a month. I have been on a WAITING list for an angiogram "can you believe that"? YOUNG PEOPLE please look after yourself. The health system is not concerned about your health, just your illness, as that's more profitable. They don't have to save your life, just profit from you. It's the good people who become Dr's and nurses, who want to get you in straight away to help you, it's just the system won't allow it.
