Started high school in 1970 and graduated in 1975. Got to see many top ranked classic bands, some in their infancy. I lived full on in the 70’s. Great song that flashes me right back to the summer of 77.
Enjoyed your reaction. This is such an iconic song. The lyrics were written by lead singer, Ann Wilson, after a verbal encounter with a sleazy record dude. The music was written by lead guitarist & co-founder, Roger Fisher, drummer Michael Derosier and guitarist Nancy Wilson. On this song... Roger plays lead guitars, Howard Lesse plays rhythm guitar and Nancy plays acoustic guitar.
Kids today listening to music from 50 years ago is interesting. Imagine kids in 1924 listening to music from 1877.😊 Seriously, I grew up with this and I loved it! Great art transcends time.
I remember my Mom cranking this when I was a kid. Helps me remember my parents when they were in their 20's, wearing bell bottoms, and driving a '68 Firebird. All their music was on records or 8 track.
Classic Heart. Ann and Nancy Wilson. One of greatest rocker tandems of all time. The guitar riff to this track is incredible. So many awesome selections with this band. You should do 'Magic Man' next. You are really on a roll now, Steph. Outstanding choice.
@@Reactionmiss A few other Heart suggestions besides 'Magic Man.' "Crazy on You', 'These Dreams', 'Alone', and 'Never.' They also did a wonderful cover of 'Stairway to Heaven' at the Kennedy Center Honors that brought Robert Plant to tears.
Back in 85 I saw Quarter Flash open for Starship and Heart at the civic center in Savannah. It was a great show I just wish they play more of their older songs but they had remade the band and Ann and Nancy were the only remaining band members from the earlier days.
1978, Rockford, Illinois --- Rockford SPEED Jam --- that's when I saw them the first time, when I was 17. They were the headliner of a two-day rockfest at Rockford Speedway. Scorpions opened, and the band roster's big names were Judas Priest, Joe Perry Project, Triumph. Second day was Electric Light Orchestra, Head East, two bands hopelessly blurred in my chemically-impaired memory... and HEART. I just wanted to rub it in a bit. If I were cruel, I'd point out I paid a total of $12 general admission, and tubs of beer were $1, which was WAY over-priced for a half-gallon of Budweiser. Time-travel, take me away to my misspent youth.
Talent…hat ever endangered species from many contemporary mediums? Not just music period I was very little in the 1970s and was not a concert going age, but I remember these songs were still in heavy rotation when I started my first job in the mid-eighties washing dishes. And I consider myself fortunate because so much of what is now considered classic rock was really in my ears very early on and it's all such a great vibe period period side note. ..Ann Wilson's voice at 62. ..When she did that Cover of Led Zeppelin's stairway to heaven at the Kennedy center is absolutely stunning. If you have not seen it already
Nice. Yeah America aint gettin better with age, at least not the last 4 or 5 decades. The babyboomers did, are doing damage, that will never be able to be repaired.
Kevin, You have ZERO idea what you're talking about. ZERO. What confused new generation of know-nothings do you come from? Latchkey kids? Can't-tell-men-from-women generation? Subsequent generations are worse at EVERYTHING. The most illiterate lazy generations occurred after the 90s. Including your grasp of history. Shut up and dance.
