This is a great rock band that started in the 70's. Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. They have had so many great hits such as "Crazy on You", "Magic Man", "What About Love", "Never", "Dog & Butterfly", "These Dreams" etc. In 2012 Ann & Nancy performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in a tribute to Led Zeppelin doing their classic song "Stairway To Heaven".

Those 'haircuts' you speak of ... came out of the 70's. All of us kids, teenagers wore that style. It was called the 'feathered look'. Basically, the bangs and hair on top were cut semi-short (not to short). The sides and back were left longer with a layered style cut. While we blow-dried our hair, we would use a round or regular style brush and brush the hair back. Simpler times ... We need to bring it back.

My first contact with Heart ! In 1976 this was their first hit in Germany. I bought the LP and was a little disappointed, because there wasn't any other "burner" like that on their album "Little Queen", but after listening closely, I loved the whole album. Until now I grabbed all what I can find of the band and also solo abums. I'm a huge fan of the Wilson sisters ❤️

Heart's Little Queen album is my favorite. You need to listen to the whole album because they have Barracuda rocking out but also different songs that show great musicianship and it shows Ann's great voice in different types of song styles. Still listen to it today 47 years later. The 70's were absolutely the best decade of music along with the most variety of music. You can tell the bands by the originality of their music and vocals especially when you have never even heard the song before. A lot of people say how great the 80's were. That's because the 70's bands went on without slowing down. Had a younger friend comment on a Aerosmith song that came out 10 years into their career as an 80's song I said yeah but the band is from the 70's.

Barracuda is a fish with sharp teeth. Anyone catching this while fishing must be careful not to be bitten. This song was written as a criticism of a manager who wanted them to behave sexy for publicity. Ann is an incredible singer her sister Nancy is a great guitarist. Great band.

Ann & Nancy singing "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors is one of the best tributes ever. Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, & Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin are watching from the balcony. Jason Bonham (John Bonham, Led Zeppelin drummer RIP) is playing drums to honor his Dad. Incredibly beautiful & the boys were very touched.

Ann & Nancy Wilson's "idols" were Led Zeppelin. Their 70s rock was as close as you'll get to a female version of Led Zeppelin. FANTASTIC STUFF! Their 80s tunes were a little more subdued, I'm sure to "move with the times"....but, I prefer them ROCKING-OUT!!! ❤❤❤❤ This song it about a "Barracuda" (a very aggressive fish) - but, the story it about the comments the "heads" of the music industry made about the sisters. Magic Man is a great tune by them. I also think you would enjoy songs from their albums: Dog & Butterfly and BeBe Le Strange!! Great REACTION, AGAIN, YOU-TWO!!!

Like others have said, a barracuda is a fierce predatory fish, but when this song came out in the mid-seventies, people were also familiar with a US performance car called the Plymouth Barracuda so some people thought the song might be referring to that car. It isn't. The band used the barracuda fish reference to apply to a ruthless manager they had who spread false rumors about the band to try to increase public interest.

She wrote this about a record company executive. Also, in the 70's it was exponentially more difficult as a female performer. Radio was not allowed to play many females, and you certainly would NEVER hear 2 female led songs back to back.

This was a protest song. The "barracuda" is specifically the record label they worked with, but also, about the music industry and media more generally. At the time, their record label, promoters & media were stirring up rumors about the Wilson sisters having incestuous sexual relations with each other. The band was understandably... um... not happy about it... to say the least. This was written in the aftermath of a public exchange with a music promoter.

Great reaction, per usual ! (not everything can be your cup of tea as they say) Never get all these comments about their favorite decade of music. Literally every decade was brilliant (a handful of people hate the 80s but it was the start of metal for example, others hate the 50s (but love rock in the 70s, literally copied from the 50s (which copied the blues from the 20s and so on). It's all absurd. At every single moment in time there are literally millions making brilliant songs (probably since the day of the Neanderthal and way beyond) (in stark contrast to the movie -industry were we can scientifically pinpoint that (almost) everything before the 2010-ish was better than the constant stream of garbage and crap we now get served on our plates). Music is literally indestructible. When AI has replaced Hollywood (not much of a difference to be honest) we will still be making fantastic music. Music is keeping the bad Martians away.
