I have just been told I have a heart block after a Holter monitor. I have atrial fibrillation and take Apixaban and Bisoprolol. I was not given anymore info I was just told if a cardiologist thinks I need seeing he will contact me, needless to say I am worrying. So after watching this video I feel so much better because it was explained so well. Thank you Dr Gupta.

Thank you so much for this video. I may have heart block. Referred by my GP to a cardiologist for a work up. I do not feel unwell or having dizziness or blackouts. I am 72 years old, female. Only take a mild BP med (Losartan) which regulates higher BP well, and levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. I hope for the best. Thank you again for this very easy to understand explanation of the types of heart block. You are a very valuable medical resource.🙏🏼

@wilt716
@wilt716 2 года назад
@@imvincentblair8911 I have this type also, and don't notice a thing (asymptomatic) when the block occurs (i.e. no QRS complex appears on ECG). If I monitor my heartbeat (on wrist or neck) my heart will skip a beat after so many beats. I only have the block when my heart rate normally slows during the day or night. When my heart rate is above approximately 55 bpm, I don't have heart block. Heart beats steady and normal.

Thank you for this video - very helpful. One of my family members went to ER with chest and left arm pain and the ECG results came back with SINUS RHYTHM , INCOMPLETE RIGHT, BUNDLE BRANCH BLOCK, LEFT ANTERIOR FASCICULAR BLOCK & non specific st-t abnormalities. The ER doctor told him everything came back fine (e.g. x-ray, blood tests, etc) and then released him...he just discovered these ECG readings by reviewing medical records on his own. Should he do anything about this or not worry?

I had a cardiac ablation for ANVRT and AT two days ago. The doctor said I had very complex wiring. I have been feeling my heart flip flopping so much since ablation and have caught heart block and junctional rhythm on my home device. He confirmed both with an ecg in his office yesterday. My question to you is do you ever see the heart blocks And or junctional rhythm go away on their own after your heart heals and settles down after ablation? I didn’t have either before ablation. Thank you so much for your videos!

Hello @Dr.Sanjay Gupta I'm a 13 year old that's been physically active my whole life and have never had a problem with heart and have always been healthy. I recently have had a checkup and the pediatrician has told me that I may have a small heart blockage from some test from a Ecg. It says on this red paper that's seems to have my heart Rythm that I may have (sinus Rythm,atrial fibrillation,left anterior fascicular block,right bundle branch block,bundle branch block, and bifascicular block) I wanted to ask you if I'm at risk at any potential heart problems at my age or if you believe I have a problem. Then again this is what she thinks and that it may not be a for sure thing. PLEASE ANSWER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Thanks for the video, I am 33 year old male, recently I had some hooking pain like muscle pain in left side of chest, I thought its either muscle pain or due to acidity but it comes next day too. so I went to a clinic, they took ECG, it shows first degree AV block, sinus rhythm, HR: 87 bpm, P:120 ms, PR: 240 ms, QRS: 89ms, QT/QTc: 351/422ms, P/QRS/T:40/63/13, RV5/SV1:0.694/0.836 mv, my cholesterol level is 225, ldl 130, i do have history of hyperlipidemia , I do gym regularly and run around 2 km continuously. but I don't feel any weakness or tiredness or any discomfort. Please advise me whether i should go for any further treatment or consultation with cardiologist. This first degree AV block will become worse? or can we control this not to get worse with proper exercise and healthy food. am really scared.. please advise me..

I had an ECG done a couple of weeks ago. I found out I had first degree heart block. I am a very active with cardio and weight training and was a competitive swimming growing up. If I understood this correctly, people with 1st degree heart block can get this if they are active? I have a slow resting HR in the 50’s in the morning. Thoughts?

A few months ago I had a routine EKG due to preop and it said Sinus Rhythm Abnormal EKG 1st Degree AV Block. My EP said not to worry. May never show again. IF it bothers me we can adjust my beta blocker which I take for precautionary reasons due to a long qt interval. I did have symptoms the day of the EKG. I didnt say anything because I just wanted to see what it says. I now have those symptoms again and my HR is the same as always -- around 55 or less. I was worried it might be Afib but I think ti is likely something to do with my Beta Blocker dose and the supplements I am taking. It makes me feel a little uneasy. BUt my HR is the same just like the day I had the abnormal EKG. I have had two normal EKGs since plus a surgery where all went well. My point is that 1st Degree AV Block can give you symptoms.

Just had a second degree heart block type 2 show up with SVT runs & 29-164bpm. I get lightheaded, shaky, eventually blacking out & falling. Is there any reason I shouldn't be getting a pacemaker? I cant even stand very long anymore, and I used to be very active before this.

Two weeks ago I had a 3rd-degree heart block and a pacemaker was installed after I was revived. I am confused and numb over the experience as it just happened. I am very active with a very slow heartbeat was 30 bpm now with the pacer 60 bpm. The question going forward survival rate with the pacemaker 8.5 years is this a actuate estimate? Very confused on survival rates.

You can live a long life with a pacemaker! Consider that there are babies born with complete heart block and they live a long life with a pacemaker. 8,5 year is an average of the battery of a pacemaker life

Should I be worried it’s making me very anxious no symptoms other than an irregular feeling heartbeat I’m generally a healthy person. Thanks

Hi Dr Gupta, a few months ago I got a video call with you. They did all the tests you said they need to do (table test, ER, ECG while getting attack, EP,...) They found out I got a first degree block. The strange thing is that I feel the delay all the time. Sometimes it goes away and sometimes it comes again 😔. My PR is 290. They don’t want to give me a pacemaker and they say that it must be due to my vagal tone but what can I do to “improve” the vagal tone? My cardiologist also gave me ivabradine because I suffer so much from my first degree block and he thinks that when my HR will be lower it will turn on the “slow pathway” or something and will reduce it. My HR is high (80-99 in rest) so I can take ivrabradine. What is your opinion about my story? Should I give it a try? Many thanks

@@jonathantorres7011 i am 29 so I feel your pain. I had first and wenckbach the moment I lay down. Nothing that we can die from but it was so so uncomfortable that av delay.
