In March this year I was waiting anxiously in Broadgreen Hospital LIverpool fro By Pass OP, feeling very nervous but this video helped me come to terms and get my head around the whole thing which was about to happen, Needless to say it all went well (6 CABGs lter) and I am now feeling fit as a fiddle cycling and lots of other stuff I never used to do thanks to the doctors who carried out the surgery and the makers of this video too for helping me
Dear Dr Vincent: Thanks so very much for this excellent video as it is a tremendous value to my wife Debra & me. I'm now set to have a quadruple bypass next Tuesday May 10,2016 here in Dothan, AL. Your video has really helped us to better understand what I'm about to experience. May God Bless you and your family for sharing this valuable information......ROLL TIDE !!!
@45msaz thank you for your response. That is really encouraging - I have been looking after him, one thing is for sure - he does seem to be getting stronger and its only been 2 weeks - and he gets loads of sleep! With regards to praying - this is something I should start doing, God bless you, take care
Ive been doing a nursing degree and also have artherosclerosis wish i had looked at this in 2006 when first diagnosed ive had 2 angio's and the last one showed 70% blockage to the right coronary artery so a bit worried now...thanks so much for this and other video explaining how to avoid open heart as well....a very good detailed layman explanation. Sir you are a credit to society.
I'm not religious, but it blows my mind that something as intricately functioning as the human body wasn't designed by an intelligent creator but is just a result of nature fucking around for millions of years until it found something that worked.
before to explain the heart and surgery please learn and teach about sterile techniques and use of mask in operating room with sterile supply around you
REMEMBER IF YOU NEEDED THIS SURGERY BEFORE THE SIXTIES IT WASNT AVAILABLE. GOD BLESS THOSE PIONEERS ( HEROS OF HUMANITY ) WHO MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE TO SAVE THE MISERABLE HUMANITY AND LET THEM ENJOY NORMAL LIFE AGAIN .WE ARE REALLY INDEBTED TO THEM AND NO MATTER WHAT WE DO WE CANT REWARD THEM ENOUGH. TRY TO COMPARE THOSE GREAT PEOPLE TO THE WAR MONGER POLITICIANS , BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE. MOHAMMED
.The first coronary artery bypass surgery was performed in the United States on May 2, 1960, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Bronx Municipal Hospital Center by a team led by Dr. Robert Goetz and the thoracic surgeon, Dr. Michael Rohman with the assistance of Dr. Jordan Haller and Dr. Ronald Dee.
Thank you for this. I'm having a triple bypass in the next month or so and this has helped ease my mind. Your explanations are understandable. Thank you!
this stuff is amazing.. I love the internet.... makes me (and all users) sooo much smarter... 20 years ago the opportunity for me to learn about heart bypass surgery would have been rare... and its all soo interesting too ;-) Thanks to the the poster and the doctor.. great job!
I just had triple bypass surgery a month ago caught ammonia on top of the bypass it's really the most painful thing that I've ever had to go through smoking and salt and food with high cholesterol content will definitely kill ya luckily I made it threw and I'm doing good Thank you Lord
I know this reply is 4 years late. But how were you after the surgery? My dad is about to have it done and we’re all freaking out. Even the doctors are fighting over it. My dad has cirrhosis (literally just from the fatty salty foods he eats. He’s not a drinker) and so the liver doctor is afraid of my dad’s liver failing within 6 months after the surgery because of the heart surgery. So the doctors are going back and forth on if they should do the surgery (they have him on a No Food After Midnight so we’re thinking they’re gonna do it) Sorry I’m rambling. But how long did it take you to recover? Like a month? Longer?
I love this stuff. does ANYONe, and I do repeat ANYONe know of any online simulations of a cardiopulmonary bypass machine? I am desperate. I've looked to no end, and have FAILED. PLEAse help me. This video is just truely awesome. I love it.
Nye1956 well done you, my wife has just had a single bypass, still in hospital as today's date, compared to G P's the hospital medics are wonderful, we shall move back to Gods country, Wales soon we hope, Wales is the finest place on earth for all things medical,
My own doctor could'nt get rid of me quick enough...i come from a town that nobody wants to work in so getting good staff is always a problem. The saying here is "if in pain catch a plane" we do have a couple of good cardiac doc's but they are so overworked they just can't help the way they would like.
my dad had a bypass last tuesday.. can anyone tell me how long it takes for a person to recover ? At the moment my dad is just resting, but I hate to see him like this :( and the stiches are really putting off :(
@kjjoi Don't thank god for this. Thank the people that studied millions of hours and the volunteers to help practice this method to what it is today. Give credit where credit is due.
