A congenital heart defect (CHD) is a defect in the structure of the heart or vessels that are present at birth. It causes various issues such as a deformity of hands or legs, disfigures of the eye, or some form of disability. Such issues can be diagnosed by using an echocardiogram or a fetal echocardiogram.
