Always has been. The girls are rockin. Guy boobs, not impressing. Want to hear a lame assed story? Well here you go. I was going to college and rode my motorcycle back to the apartment. Walked into the place and turned on the radio (remember radio). Heard Heart for the first time. It was about 1978 or so. Maybe earlier. After the rock stuff they did (radio) DBA seemed a little lame, but I was 26 and rocking. Love those girls who launched out to be the Beatles (look it up). Canadians, ya gotta love em.

I used to visit local TV stations all over the U S. and got to watch local news being broadcast. In a lot of the medium to smaller markets, the set would look like Paradise. The set, hair, clothes, lighting would be impeccable, but just a foot or two out of camera range would be a disaster area. Boxes piled up, wires, parts of other sets, etc. Absolute chaos in some cases

Folks, It really could have sounded a lot better. But not here. There was spectacular recording and mixing equipment available, but it was expensive. It just wasn't within reach of small stations, and certainly not most schools. In 2022 we have the luxury of mic'ing everything separately, running it into separate tracks of a multi-track digital audio workstation, adding a lot of processors on each channel, and mixing it all precisely. Even garage bands do that in some cases (My kids went to school with one - Look up Barefoot Modern here.).

It's pretty hard to get younger people today to understand just how much skill it took to sound this good with the (lack of) equipment they had back then. This was pure talent on Heart's part. Ann sounds astonishing and so professional. I miss this kind of talent.

While I know youre right and agree totally, you'd think they'd have devised some equipment whereby we wouldn't have to look at the bass players nipples quite so much. I really think they had the technology in the 70's to do that at least.

There is one slight problem with this video ... the putz ... lead guitar right side. is out of tune on " Crazy on You" He is the reason this band as was did not excell to it's next level. Superior to Grace Slick , Chrissy Hynde , and many more , Ann is in a League of her own , with Nancy right up there as well. Love Nancy Wilson's gentle heart. The only 2 female vocalists who even come close to Ann Wilson are Aretha Franklin and Pat Benatar. Am 64 , and have seen all 3 multiple times. We mustn't forget Nancy Wilson as well , as she is an extraordinary female vocalist. If Ann wasn't so strong / overpowering / captivating , Nancy would have received her well earned recognition. WOW. I had no idea this video even existed until tonight. Obviously one of Heart's earliest TV appearances and in our own backyard no less here in Washington State. I was in the service at the time stationed in Germany with the Army. Every time I went to the commissary, I would just pick out an album at random just to see what I could find that I might enjoy. I spotted this album titled "Dreamboat Annie" by Heart. At the time there were not too many female rock artists so I thought, "Why not?". It was the best decision I made for my album choices. It wasn't long before I had the whole barracks rocking with Heart :)

Oh. My. God. Heart never fails to give me chills. Ann is perfection. No denying her voice is an instrument, but I also LOVE whenever she picks up her flute or a guitar or pounds away on the piano like she did in Allies, for example. I consider myself to be truly blessed by the gift of their word, music and voice for my generation. Superior creativity, and a voice by Annie, leading it all, mixed with tones of heaven and hell. This is rock and roll, people. And Ann and Nancy are still rocking it for is all some 40 years after this show. We are incredibly fortunate!!!!

Much of what they shared with this small audience was just the beginning of their enormous talents also to come. I watch this and want to give each tune a standing O. Man, I would've done anything to have been in that TV studio. I was 13 when this was taped. There is no better front woman than Ann Wilson. You can hear how tight they were in 1976.
