Never thought I'd make an Awesamdude song, but now I can't even imagine not having this one in the upcoming album!! This song was inspired by a comment from a long-time viewer of the channel, aliased_aryl. Thank you so much for the idea because I am now obsessed with this song!
A big thank you to UnintendedMango for co-writing the lyrics with me! And also thank you to SlapJack Gamer for helping me workshop the music on this one. He really brought this song to life!!

One thing that I noticed is that Sam's character arc is really close to what c!Dream's is. They started with a Noble purpose and then did more than the cause justified.

OMG KOE YOU DIDNT 🥺🥺🥺 I am. In shock?!? Holy moly dude I didn’t think you still remembered that. Actually in shambles rn at this being a real thing 🥹 Sam as Daedalus and pandora’s vault as the labyrinth is perfect. The renowned inventor who made a contraption to keep a monster inside is way too specific a connection to pass by. Maybe Tommy should’ve taken some string during his disaster of a murder attempt, but then we wouldn’t have orpheus’s song so I guess it all worked out Dream being the monster in the labyrinth fits so well with this extended mythological web you’ve spun. I saw that part and was like how could this be anything else? Seriously, it’s so well fleshed out the connections now practically jump out of the page And of course, mentioning quackity as Icarus is a must, except this iteration of Daedalus feels no fatherly responsibility for him. Here Icarus’s mistakes are purely of his own making, and from Sam’s pov it was quackity who made the current mess by making promises he couldn’t keep Then the references to techno as the titan and the flame-bringer, classic. The callback to “all is fair in love and war” from Prometheus now takes on a different meaning for sam. Where techno’s meaning stems from a belief in anarchy and a lack of a power hierarchy, Sam’s time as warden has corrupted him to the point where he believes he’s above the law he enforces. Simply chef’s kiss, muah, perfection 🤌 back to the comment on haunted that started it all It’s got a banger instrumental, fire lyrics, and the color coding with the names brings everything together, it’s the cherry on top. Every aspect of this is simply phenomenal, and I’m honored to be mentioned in the description. You’re not the only one obsessed with this song :)

Oh you bet I did!! This song idea has been on the to do list ever since you gave the suggestion all the way back in December! The fact that you caught so much of the lyrical symbolism that Mango and I crammed into this one makes me very happy because we really put a lot into this one ☺️ Thank you so much again for the awesam (pun intended) idea for this song! It was a blast to make and creating it felt like an homage to Prometheus, which made it even more fun 😄

This song literally IS Sam. You really nailed his character on the head with this one. He has good intentions, but is willing to do bad things to get there. He's an incredibly self-righteous and arrogant character, believing that he's the only one in the right. I love his character and I love this song. Another great masterpiece.

"Now I man on duty, gotta keep the monster in Even if that turns me to a monster like him" is an amazing line and really shows what Sam feels like on the smp having had to guard Pandoras vault and keep the "monster" in even though it was hard for him.

yo I just wanna say I love the picture, the armor looks great, it always bugs me when armor isn't done right cause I got my own set of plate. the song is amazing too. Awesamdude is a well written character and it's great to see a song that embodies the coldness of him

I noticed that a lot of the villain characters have references to greek mythology, techno by the fact he calls himself Prometheus and it's the name of his song, dream through his chorus's use of titans and gods (him and techno(even better because dream calls himself a god and techno refers to himself as Prometheus, who was a titan)), quackity called his wings wax- icarus, and sam calls himself Daedalus, quackity icarus, dream as the minotaur, and techno as Prometheus again. Edit: I also just noticed how sam says he needs a plan that can't backfire. In the myth daedalus and icarus make the wax wings, but if they flew too high they would melt, too low the wings would get wet, so that was a plan that COULD backfire, and as you know it ultimately did, icarus died( which I'm really hoping actually happens!).

I love that a lot of the chord progressions reflect Keep Me Alive but with a similar electric sound of You Dreamed a Dream, I think it's a great way of showing the biggest influences for his character are Quackity and Dream

This was so fun to work on together, and I absolutely love the way it turned out! The production and art are excellent; I especially love the choice to change the color of some of the words. I couldn't watch the premiere, but I'm listening to this song now and can I just say, it's probably my favorite song after Techno and Dream's songs. I just love how you told Sam's story in this song. Also there are two parts that I love so much. The first one - "I tried in vain to douse the Titan's fire", referencing not only Sam throwing Techno in the prison, but also Techno's song Prometheus. The other thing is the bridge, because those lyrics genuinely feel like something Sam would say (I haven't watched any of Sam's lore streams, so I don't know if he has already said it). I also love the end of Verse 1 - "Now I man on duty, gotta keep the monster in even if that turns me to a monster like him", because it shows how alike Sam and Dream are, they both started out with noble and good intentions, but then...well. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." 🙂 Also just a quick question - are you going to publish your songs on Spotify?

This is the song that introduced me to your music, and I'm so grateful for it!!! This masterpiece is seriously so well crafted. It just is Sam's character. The song flows really well while telling so much! The parallells, the references, the descriptions, it's just so well done!!! This comment is really late because I just found these songs, but in the Spotify release of Prometheus you can hear some of Heart Of Stone approaching the three minute mark. This is probably obvious but I just realised. I believe this is to show the similarities between Technoblade and Sam, they both want the greater good and will go to a massive extent to save people, even if it means they will become a “Monster”, they both are capable of mass destruction (sam has world eaters and techno has withers, and they both are relatively selfless, or humble, having smaller houses but creating massive amounts of rare and powerful items and structures for their friends, allies, or for what they believe will save people. There are also similarities in the lyrics such “all is fair in love and war” which is kind of their belief. There is also the line “fire-hardened heart of stone”, I believe this is a revolution or doomsday reference. I could keep going for hours about this song. Amazing work!

Hah, I just noticed that this song has a VERY similar beat (motif?) To Keep Me Alive (I think) AND The Better Price which admittedly isn't your song but well you're in it, is the similar beat a deliberate choice or accidental if so, why? On a side note all the Greek mythology references and little twists continue to be a lot of fun.

If there are any similarities when it comes to the beats/rhythms, that’s an accident. However, if you listen closely to the piano in the background of verse 2, there is a musical reference to Keep Me Alive 😉

Okay, @aliased_aryl just said everything that I was going to but 1000% better! I love the dissection of their theory and it's truly spot on! Also, Knight of Endale you not only made a song that truly capture the character of Technoblade but here you made one of the few songs that I heard that is truly spot on for AweSamDude's Character! The Mythology References along with the references and metaphors to the DSMP is just truly *Chef's Kiss* Now, I need to start making a Play List for when I'm writing my FanFics of these characters! And it looks like I have more songs to hear by you! I have your album saved! And these are amazing! Also, I want to ask before I even start to plan. Do I have your permission to use any songs for an Animatic, with full credit to you and the people who helped make this song(s)? Yes there is! Most of my songs have references to Greek myths, and if you pay careful attention, there’s a consistency to which Greek names I use to refer to Dream SMP characters and places 😉
