Hearing that mom tell her daughter to let her go in fear of her daughter falling too since she only has one arm is so heartbreaking she accepted her death despite how terrified she must’ve been she could’ve take her baby with her
Agreed!!! My heart sank. What a beautiful mother and daughter, the daughter is apologizing to the man who came to help which shows how kind and considerate she is, and the mother is telling her daughter to let her go!!! Such consideration for the other person for all 3 of these magnificent people!!!
I came to say the same thing. Tears instantly came to my eyes. She was sooo scared. The driver was the biggest hero imo. He didn’t even know them, but willingly drove towards an active shooter situation and did it for free, just because he’s a dad himself!❤🥹
10:22 Can we just give a huge shout out to the cab driver? He could’ve stopped the car right there and just said no I am not driving towards an active shooting but he knew that if this Dad had to get his daughter out of there before she got hurt and he did everything he could to get him there as fast as he could. This cab driver literally deserves a medal or some kind of award. He is the true hero alongside this father❤❤❤❤❤😢
the mom who was falling telling her daughter to let her go?? the fact that she was probably terrified for her own life but the idea of pulling her daughter down too scared her even more than her own death
The way the mom that was drowning grabbed the grandpa. It was like a glimpse into their past. Just a scared little girl holding onto her daddy afraid of drowning 🥺
The student that was choking, I am just shocked that no one he was sitting with was showing any kind of alarm let alone assistance, especially the student with glasses. He never even looked up or was spatially aware of anything going on around him beyond his phone and picking at his hair. Thank goodness the coach was alert, I have never witnessed this level of apathy, I mean across the board, even with the students at the other tables.
I think that these kids experienced the bystander effect. It's frustrating, but it occurs even with adults. I'm expecting many safety lectures in their futures.
I think it’s a mix of bystander effect and awareness. When I was in school, it was very common to put a RU-vid video on, put in some earbuds and eat quietly. I didn’t care to talk to the students around me, so I actively tuned them out. The choking student in this video didn’t appear to be gesturing or getting people to realize he was choking, so that could add to it. Students in their own world, not sure if their peer is making a joke, and untrained in what scenarios like this look like…it can easily add together to create a perceived apathy. I’ve seen other videos where students absolutely realize their peer is choking and take action, so I wouldn’t take it too seriously. This video in particular also seemed like they were young, maybe 14-15.
The kid looking away was almost in shock .. just because they aren't jumping around and screaming doesn't mean they weren't concerned... It was his friends that got staffs attention .. let us not be quick to judge a person or situation lest we be judged ourselves
Oh, the daughter thanking her mother for not throwing her away after we saw the clips of infants beeing found in dumpsters.. my heart stopped for a second.
As a medic I’ve responded to a child in a hot car and he got lucky in that he didn’t die. His mother was eating inside a Subway and grandma was furious and said she would take her daughter to court to get custody of the child. The child had a horrible diaper rash and he was red and sweaty all over. Another time we were enroute back to the county after dropping off a patient at an ER outside of the county and we found a child locked in a car. A third time was a bit different but we found a toddler who was about 2 years old only in a diaper walking next to a busy highway. Family didn’t know he got out of the house.
My husband was driving home late from work, pulled into our neighborhood and thought, "What... what in the world is that?". He pulled his car over and walked between two of the houses. It was a naked 2 year old sitting on the ground. He flipped out and called 911. When police got there, I guess the mother had already called 911 because she was warming the bath water and couldn't find her two year old. The whole situation was incredibly lucky because I think it was 20 out so they told my husband in something like 15 minutes the child would have already had frostbite and within 45 would have died. Crazy crazy luck.
I accidentally "unliked" this video 3 times because I love these rescue stories so much and went to "like" it over and over! Restores my faith-in-humanity bucket.
The kid that rescued his mom from the pool while she was having a seizure really hits home for me. I have seizures and my kids have kept me from hitting my head when i have gone down. Its scary.
I started crying when you aired the one where a daughter and father saved a girl who was stuck by her head on a ride. He said he would catch her and he did while his daughter caught her head and neck preventing further injury. I love people. As much as some people i dont like. This world is full of love you just have to look
The bus driver who helped the ittle girl whose mom had a seizure was near Luther Manor in Wauwatosa at the time. Bless all of the hardworking bus drivers who help out the community!
The baby choking story inspired me to get the device that man had. I carry it on me at all times. I promise you will never regret getting it. I pray i never need it, but if i need it i pray I'm there
Exactly what my family did! We have one in each car, and one inside the house. We taught everyone in our family from my seven year old sibling to 17 year old sibling how to use it. Along with that, we also all learned how to do the Heimlich maneuver. I don't ever want to be in such a situation, but if I am, then I'll be prepared.
When you try to smash a car window, try to aim for a corner, rather than the center, if possible. Apparently that is the weakest point, according to people who sell window breaking tools.
This video compilation brought me to tears, especially the ones with the drowning children (I saved my baby sister when I was seven and she was one), and the ones relating to animal attacks (again, baby sister vs. Great Dane and a Chihuahua vs. a Great Dane). The last dog did bite me, but it stopped attacking the little dog. Everyone survived. LOL
The one with the dad protecting his bullriding son's head really touched me. It could've been just as bad for him, broken spine by the bull jumping on his spine, possibly never walk again.
Ugh that’s why you don’t leave your kids in the car! Someone could steal it..not always just about overheating. That poor little girl was probably soooo confused and didn’t know where her mommy went. Makes me tear up thinking about my own 3 yr old.
Oh man... the story of the aba therapist and the austistic teen got me. I live that story with the pool and it is always a huge worry. To hear that boy's screams 😭 i know the bond my son has with his therapist and it was heartbreaking!! Thank God he's ok
I don't judge, but why does any mother leave their small child in the car while going inside a store is beyond my comprehension. If I can't bring my daughter inside with me, I'd rather not go. I can't even think of a situation where this would be a thought. If it's an emergency I'll still wake her, or carry her in if she's asleep. During the day or night, I'd be too terrified or her being kidnapped. I don't even let her walk to the next aisle if I can't see her. I'm so glad the person who stole the car let the girl go and she was found safe.
@@loveandautismforeveryou should never leave your pet inside a car unless your leaving your AC for the dog, and for babies a kid over 12 has to be in there with them
@@thelovelyone1582 I mean she was probably in shock. It's not uncommon for people in shock to care about/focus on trivial things, like "I'm getting blood on the carpet" when you just fell and got a head wound for example
17.18 he may be a Grandpa, but that's still his baby, it was extremely heartwarming seeing her cling to him. And the kid was awesome too, almost forgot to mention.
My dad had to do the Heimlich maneuver on me when I was a kid. I was choking on a butterscotch candy. It works really good. It literally flew out of my throat out of my mouth.
The third one at 4:02 is unbelievable, mainly because of the guy sitting on the left in the black shirt. Just look at him....casually on his freaking zombie phone, no reaction whatsoever to a guy choking nor to the teacher saving a life! Just wow....
Yeah that was insane to see. I am prone to avoid conflict and socially awkward situations too (and thus look at my phone sometimes), but like.. what??? Your friend is almost dying in front of you, wtf :D
Grrrr....Yeah he was looking right at him when the guy started choking so he put his head down and started playing with his hair. He glanced up one more time and seen it wasn't over and put his head back down. You know all his friends had to see this video and that kid has to live with this
I live in Australia and it's friggin hot! Our kids all know "kids alive do the five" fence the pool, shut the gate, learn to swim it's great, supervise, watch ya mate and learn how to resuscitate!
Seeing the teens laugh and continue using their phones while their friend is choking is really really sad… worried more about people looking at them than saving their friend from death.
You can't tell me the dad that jumped in on the croc didn't watch a lot of Steve Irwin. ❤ his leap and hold down was perfect. He definitely saved that young lady's life and hopefully her hand. Crocs aren't very smart. It didn't really understand what it was doing. I've watched one eat the foot off another one. Instead of the chicken it was being fed. Surprisingly resilient dinosaurs, the one with the missing hand just turned to the other like, really?? I'm not chicken!
The driver and the dad, I just love that. It was really a great story to see. He could have been like ok yeah im driving into Gunfire. I want a big bonus, but he said nope its free. Im a father. I watch news about the worst of humanity, and then I see videos about the best of humanity. And i realize we haven't totally been lost.
Too bad there weren't iPhones back in the 70s when our pony walked on the concrete cover to the 7 foot by 7 foot septic tank in back of the farmhouse and landed in.... you guessed it. Up to its head. My dad had to pull it out.
@chssedad182 that happened to our neighbors pony it was on resuse 911, it happen in the late 90s I think it still on the channel , so happy for your horse to be okay,
When my mom was growing up, her horse Smoky liked to jump the fence into the neighbor's pasture. Really late one night, my Grandpa Dean woke her up and told her Smoky did it again, so she got her boots on and went outside. Somehow, the dumbass had gotten his front half over the fence, but couldn't quite drag his enormous booty across with him so he was just standing there half on this side and half on that side. Took Mom half an hour to get him unstuck and that's not including all the time she spent laughing at him.
At 11:03 imagine there wouldn’t have been someone there, the daughter probably wouldn’t had the chance to pull her mom up by her own… Imagine you need to let go of your mom and she falling down an edge in front of your own eyes and you never see her again after. I don’t think there is any chance to ever get that image out of you head :/ I am so glad that someone was there to help her
The drowning ones get to me, i saved my at that time three year old brother from drowning three times despite being on the other side of the beach as my other brothers were def not made for looking out for a child he was literally next to them three times…
Thank you so much for sharing all of these stories and more. It certainly makes me feel good to be part of society that cares enough to help somebody when they need it
The kids sitting at the table with thier choking friend, had absolutely no reaction to it. Yes they knew he was being helped. But looked like they had no concern during it all.
Not a single teen in that lunchroom had any reaction. Not a single one got up to at the very least get other staff. The next generation of NPCs who have even worse Bystander Effect.
I love that the guy was more worried about the dog than himself when the guys swam over to help him out of the car when it fell into the marina. XD That's so sweet.
It's been in my Amazon cart to buy later for months now. Didn't even consider you could possibly save your own life with it. Less painful than self Heimlich. 😊
I once had to block traffic on a freeway in Utah to help two small dogs who were running down the freeway, I was able to help them jump over the wall to get to a field on the other side
