ఈ కథ వింటుంటే నా చిన్నతనం గుర్తొచ్చింది, మా నాయనమ్మ గారికి బ్రహ్మ చెముడు, సినిమాలంటే చాలా ఇష్టం. నాకు ఎనిమిది ఏళ్ళు ఉంటాయి అప్పుడు ఆవిడే సినిమాలకు నన్ను సహాయం తీసుకు వెళ్ళే వారు, అలా రామాలయం సినిమాకి వెళ్ళాము. లిప్ మూమెంట్ చూసి చాలా మటుకు అర్థం చేసుకునేవారు, మధ్యలో ఎప్పుడైనా వాడు ఏమంటున్నాడు అని అడిగేవారు (జగ్గయ్య గారు). నీ కథ విని ఎటో వెళ్లిపోయింది మనసు.

ఈ కథ చాలా సంవత్సరాల క్రితం చదివానండి.చాలా రోజులు మర్చిపోలేక పోయాను. ఐతే ఈ కథ ఎక్కడ ఏ పుస్తకం లో ,రచయిత ఎవరో గుర్తుకు లేక పోయినా ఆ పెద్దావిడ,మనవుడూ ,ఆమె భర్త ను సినిమా లో చూద్దామని వెళ్లడం, సరిగ్గా భర్త కనిపించే సీన్ వచ్చే సరికి రీల్ కాలిపోవడం ,ఆమె నిరాశగా తిరిగి వెళ్లడం ఇప్పటికీ నాకు గుండెల్లో ఆ భాద మెలితిప్పుతూ ఉంటుంది.అనుకోకుండా రెండేళ్ల క్రితం ఒక లైబ్రరీ లో పెద్దిభోట్ల గారి కథల సంపుటి లో మరలా ఈ కథ చదవడం జరిగింది.నిజమైన ఒక సినిమా కానీ,ఒక కథ కానీ మనల్ని చాలా రోజులు వెంటాడుతుంది అంటే అది నిజంగా గొప్ప రచనే సుమా. మీరు మరో సారి గుర్తు చేసినందులకు మీకు ధన్యవాదాలండీ 🙏🏻

వాహ్.. రసాత్మకమైన కథాంశం. కొసమెరుపు మెదడుకి చాలా పని పెట్టింది సార్. ఈ మధ్య ఏదైనా కథ చదవాలనిపించినప్పుడు దాన్ని మీ స్వరంలో వింటేనే బాగుంటుందనిపిస్తుంది. మిమ్మల్ని కలిసాక నేను వింటున్న కాదు కాదు నా మదిలో రికార్డ్ ఐన తొలి టాక్ షో సార్ ఇది.

I think after 43 yrs tarvaata just heard telugu story andi. I just heard your story while I am doing some work at home just now. I started listening your story with very casual first, but I got more curiosity in the middle. After I finished the story I was so dull because she could not see her husband in the movie. But I luv manavadu & naanamma relation. Such a nice story. I luv they collected money together togo to movie. Somehow Bring me back my childhood days. Your explanation also so good Kiran garu. I studied in Andhra Lsyola cillege 1972..74. Sastr garu came for Telugu.. Madhura vijayam.. Sureshan garu,EBSatyam garu,Aktar Basha garu..for English. PS garu I should have seen,i think. Good story..I too saw Vaddante Dabbu in which my father NPR appeared..when he was studying yMCA in Madras or Chennai. Rain, auto in man hole like one..8n vijay mahal. Father and his yMCA friend..Sankaraiah garu..

What is the point of the story? it is very stale..May be I am missing something.. If , at least , the old lady saw her husband in the movies, that would have left some satisfaction to the readers who are sympathizing with that old woman...Why write stories that portray emptiness and disappointment.. A story can be very touching and yet heart warming!

The story is not empty,pl read it again Krishna garu! It is a heart touching story for those who have some sympathy towards the aged people!After sacrificing their lives to bring up their children,many old people are neglected by their own children or left with no money to fulfill even their small wishes! They were neglected and it is the same in the present also!Some times,fate also works against them-like in the story-though the grandson tries to fulfill her wish,he fails to do so because of fate!

I could not attend a drama called " Raktha kanneru" though I very much wished to see it. The reason was I do not have 50 paise to buy ticket. All my kith and kin could see that. My father was not getting his salary as he was on sick leave, I could not ask my mother as I know her financial problems. I thought my cousins would buy a ticket for me, but none came forward. The curse of poverty in many families is like this. I am talking about 64 yrs back. Now the position has changed and I can help others but that memory hunts me even today . This old lady's desire to see her husband was very much genuine and natural, but the film was burnt at that particular juncture only . It was a terrible disappointment . Moreover over when they could pool the money with such a great. difficulty . She lied before his son and daughter-in-law also which speaks volumes about her true desire. O.Henry stories also like this.
