I was born in 1979....So most of my FONDEST childhood memories are due to Jim Henson and ALL of his many characters he created!!! Of course there's The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Fraggle Rock, The Muppets, Sesame Street etc (just to name a few)....HE was such an INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT and EXTREMELY TALENTED man and many that knew him personally said he was such a kind-hearted person!!! We lost him WAY TO SOON!!! **RIP JIM HENSON!! 🙏💜😢💕🙏
This is heartbreaking! Those last few days sound awful. Can't believe he waited so long to see a doctor. The Muppet tributes at the funeral sound beautiful though - a perfect way to send him off. Henson's legacy will definitely live on!
We had a very good friend who passed away from the same type of pneumonia as Jim Henson had. He was on a ski weekend in ME and started having cold systems. He kept getting worse over the next few days and was taken to a Boston hospital, where the doctors tried everything, including surgery, to help him recover.
Jim's first reaction to Summer would have likely been: "Neat, a new female character, use her!"....he would have also admired and appreciated Jessica DiCicco's performance.
I have read in the biography Jim Henson(which family and friends were involved in and approved of)that his reactions to ideas would be "hmmmm" and if he liked it he would say "lovely". I could see him saying what you said,as well 😊
Jim was an absolutely Genius also he would have loved the films son Brian directed and the movie Jason Segal helped write and starred in also its sequel and he would have definately loved Disney Jr.'s Muppet Babies reboot and the character of Summer Penguin.
His death really pisses me off. One of his close family members said he didn’t go to the hospital sooner bc, “He didn’t want to be a bother”. He was my bro. Sorry to anyone who reads this and thinks I’m an Asshat. Jim Henson was my favorite ever since I was 4, and recovering from a broken arm, and broken Jaw.(life long chronic pain). Dad moved the TV and I watched The Great Muppet Caper, with him on my ‘hospital style’ bed. I fell in love. With Jim Henson.
Wow had no idea he was only 53. Cant imagine how heartbreaking that had to have been for his family. I wish he was still here. Wouldve liked to have to seen him do more adult puppet stuff. Not necessarily the level of meet the feebles or happy time murders(altho i do think he would've approved of that movie lol), but more Dark Crystal
