This was very very sad! Reaction to Ray Peterson. First time hearing Tell Laura I Love Her. Reaction to Tell Laura I Love Her #reaction #reactionvideo #musicreactions Ray Peterson reaction, First time hearing Tell Laura I Love Her
So sad and lovely at the same time. They don't write songs like this anymore. And what a beautiful voice. A double banger reaction of course👌. Thought you was gonna reach for your blanket, I needed mine I must admit.😢
@@SephPlaysI have a special fondness of songs that has lyrics with a meaning and hearing them is like watching a movie within. You seem to like songs with really good lyrics. If you want more songs with great lyrics that you can react to I'm up for it if you are. If not that's perfectly fine Seph.
This song reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Fun fact: it was briefly banned by the BBC because of fears it was an incitement to commit suicide.
@@SephPlays As teenagers, we were all mesmerized by this song. The only connection I can see to suicide is that Tommy was looked upon as a hero. So maybe some teens who considered themselves nobodies would jump to the conclusion that they would be thought of as a hero if they were no longer alive. I love to try to analyze things, but I could be totally off. It was the BBC so maybe you can get in their heads easier than I can.
@@SephPlays According to Wikipedia, Decca records initially decided not to release Ray Peterson's version in the UK because "it was too tasteless and vulgar". Ricky Valence, a Welsh singer, recorded it for EMI and it went to no. 1.
Just found out, there's a couple of answer songs by Skeeter Davis amongst others, no need for a reaction but anyway. Would prefered a Romeo & Juliet ending. Tell Tommy I Love Him &Tell Tommy I Miss Him.
@@SephPlaysThat's the power of music. I've read a lot of storys where people told that when they were just going to take their own lives, then a Elvis gospel song was played on the radio and they changed their minds.
Ray Peterson also sang The Wonder Of You the well known Elvis song in the 70's. But Ray sang it first. Read the first comment in the link, it says a lot about Ray and Elvis. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vYYOFNeLZEg.html Seph wish you would read the first comment, even if you don't listen/react to the song.
To avoid spoilers "You know how i am about spoliers haha" i wont listen to the actual song. But for you i will read them comments and get back to you here?
What a sweet story! Just adds to his well known humbleness. Its not something you would hear a singer doing today!! Can you imagine someone like Justin Bieber phoning up the orginal artist and asking to cover their song and if it was ok to do so.... 🤣
