I think it was actually the right pick, he didn't have enough token generators and that's where councilman really shines in constructed. Kind of hurt me too but I see the logic in it.

Ardensio Yeah, but if you draw him later in the game he'll be a pretty dead card. In constructed it works because half your deck triggers him twice or more, whereas here if you top-decked councilman without a hand the best you could hope for is to tap and play an extra minion to make him a 2/5.

That potion of madness play actually make sense, since he drew it on turn 2, so bluegill was on curve, while he had two 3 drops including questing adv. so he assumed that his turn 4 would be questing adv. +he'd find a target for potion and he got rewarded.

That's more like my usual arena runs. Drawing a quite nice deck, encounter opponents with even better (sometimes constructed-like) decks, a lot of luck, always having the perfect counter and right draws at the right time and ending with 5:3 at best.

I play arena since beta and I believe that never ever was arena more chaotic than now. More board clears than ever, a myriad card combinations (inclucing cards that have long been retired in standard play), random potions, cards from different classes through the discover mechanics, on top of all other factors you need to play around... In the end you must accept that even the best deck can go catastrophically wrong and try to do the best you can under the circumstances. This is why Trump completely miscalculated his chances twice in a row, even though both decks were fine (though the priest one was definitely not 12 win material imo).

why is drafting one card that you already had not good? you would draft all the imp gang bosses and enforcers that you could, the kraken is solid and blast crystal is good too.
