Hi there, if the cut I am getting is a super ideal cut hearts and arrows, should I get a D-E range or can I get away with a G-H range? They will be set into a white gold band with a diamond halo!

Hello I'm on the market for some diamond studs and had a question regarding color..is it safe to say that as a woman of color, I can get away with an H-I color diamond? I was leery about getting a "warmer" diamond but now I'm reconsidering it based on this video..

+FemmeK Hi and thank you for your question FemmeK. H/I in diamond studs ... VERY SAFE but particularly if you're diamonds are hand picked for optics. I just published a new video today on "Understanding GIA Diamond Color Part 3" where I show how cut quality can make a diamond appear whiter than what it actually is. For a G color diamond, do you recommend "no fluorescence" or "faint fluorescence"?

That's a good question. Personally as long as the fluorescence doesn't negatively impact the diamond, it wouldn't affect my decision in this specific scenario.

@@DiamondInfoMan thanks! Was just wondering if a bit of faint fluorescence would help offset some of the yellow in a G color stone, for those who are seeking an icy white stone but are on a budget. But perhaps that would be more applicable for a H+ color diamond?

@@breezy_basil We've seen that fluorescence can sometimes help make a lower color diamond appear to be whiter. However "G" color diamonds are pretty white from the get-go, so if it helps, the visual difference will be minimal at best. If you're in the market for a diamond, keep in mind that we often have access to the same exact diamonds you might see on another website. We can usually offer that same diamond for less $$.
