Its because its focus is on not just italy, but also ethiopia. The new update also adds a bunch of cool paths for ethiopia so the war is much more important if you play them. They also mentioned switzerland as the meeting point because its also getting massive updates as well. Finally, the last reason is because the war against ethiopia ended up making italy not very prepared for ww2, it weakened them more than they thought and it contributed to their failures in other areas later on.

Changes to peace conferences (including UI and demand types) (FLC) New Field officers and awardable medals (FLC I think) The plane designer (DLC) Ethiopian Focus tree (DLC) Swiss Focus Tree(DLC) Italian Focus Tree(DLC) A naval rebalance (FLC) An Air rebalance (can be combined with plane designer I guess)

A Nordic dlc is almost confirmed, but it's Belgium I am worried about... I feel like Belgium will never get a focus tree The right time to give Belgium a DLC was during Man the Guns when the Netherlands got a DLC I doubt there'd be any time to fit it in at this point, except if maybe they had a DLC for leftover European nations (at this point just Albania, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg) But the right time to make a focus for these has already passed in my opinion.

I think this is all fun and well, but actually thinking about it the region of South East Asia would be a fun minor to experience as it changed hands during the war (I think it would work well with the resistant mechanic, like having French Indochina focus all about rising the resistant level during the focus tree and based on the focus a big revolution break out in different ideologies)

Even historical sources on South East Asian resistance and collaboration are sketchy, incomplete or completely untranslated.

We surely are going to be excited for this, but the old Italy will always have a special place in my heart. It feels free, being a Fascist nation able to justify on everyone at lightning speeds as long as being at war with a Major. And having a bad focus tree without any story aside from two of them like a minor fascist nation. But now we will have to follow a path, a path either supporting Germany, restoring the monarchy, or have a nation that is required to form the Roman Empire in the path that makes you able to be in the Roman Empire. Aside from that, also excited for the other features!

The Anglo-Chinese War, also known as the Opium War or the First Opium War, was a series of military engagements fought between Britain and the Qing dynasty between 1839 and 1842. The immediate issue was the Chinese seizure of private opium stocks at Canton to stop the banned opium trade, and threatening the death penalty for future offenders. The British government insisted on the principles of free trade and equal diplomatic recognition among nations, and backed the merchants' demands. The British navy defeated the Chinese using technologically superior ships and weapons, and the British then imposed a treaty that granted territory to Britain and opened trade with China. Twentieth century nationalists considered 1839 the start of a century of humiliation, and many historians considered it the beginning of modern Chinese history.[8]
