That memory book - ok, stay with me here. Alice is currently working on volume 6 of the book which she said will be the last. Volume 6 would also be the basis for season 4 if we get it (we damn well better). She said she wants to wrap up volume 6/season 4 with an epilogue presumably showing Nick and Charlie at some point in the future. I think it would be amazing if the memory book is the epilogue, except now it’s old and tattered and filled with memories of a life together. ❤️❤️

I get what you mean with the “fix” comment but if you remember in s2 I think Nick was just quoting what Charlie said back to him because Charlie said he didn’t want Nick to try and fix him 🫶🏼🧡

Control is a HUGE part of eating disorders - but for different reasons: for some it has to do with weight and body image, but not everyone.

For Tara is not about how far the Universities are, it much more feels thar it's about the pressure of being seen as a smart person and fearing that she can't meet the expectations other's have for her.

OCD is about compulsive behaviours (in Charlie’s case rules to do with eating) that are relied on to keep obsessive/intrusive thoughts at bay. We don’t know exactly what those are for Charlie, but we know he has rules about eating because it’s something he can “control”, and control has been a theme in a lot of Charlie’s relationships-with his mum (and hers with her mum), with Ben, and in a different way with Nick-so I tend to imagine Charlie’s rules about food are a strategy to experience control of his own body that’s grown fixed and exaggerated, to the point where he experiences a constant sense of assault if he doesn’t follow them.

Charlie used the word ‘fix’ in season 2. I think Nick was just parroting his choice of words.

Charlies parents are very interesting to me. They are incredibly flawed people, but they do love their children. Charlies mom (Jane) is quite a controling person, and i think we get more of an explanation for that later in the season, so i wont go any further into it. Charlies dad (Julio) is kinda a wet noodle. He is very loving, but also quite passive and goes with anything Jane says, which is why i think Charlie doesnt trust him either. I think they knew about the bullying, at least to some extent (i kinda just got the vibe from Julio in s1) but i cant really be sure. They are not a very mental health aware family, so it makes sense why they wouldnt have thought the bullying was still affecting Charlie. I dont think they're bad parents necessarily, because they do step up when their kid is struggling, but theyre also just people who have their own generational trauma that affects their relationships with their kids. With Tori, i think you have a really accurate assessment. She doesnt trust her parents and shes struggling a lot with mental health as well. People have to remember that shes also 16, so i think even talking with Nick and just being there for Charlie is enough. It would have completely broken Charlies trust if she talked to him or his parents about hus ed. Ultimately she was doing the best she could, and she doesn't have a support structure like Nick did (which was the main reason he was able to help Charlie). Tori's mental health is very interesting to me as a fan of Solitaire. I wont get into it too much, but she does feel incredibly guilty that she noticed Charlie struggling and didn't help as much as she thought she should have. Great reaction and analysis as always!! Cant wait to see ep 4.

Pink and pistachio were the inspirational colours of Season 2, as yellow and blue were for Season 1. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone tell us what Season 3’s colours were.

Charlie grabbing his arm like that could be to do with his self harm. Wounds that are healing do tend to itch. And we do know that Charlie self harms...

I think it’s a good way to hint at self harm without actually showing it.
