Thanks so much for posting this. Really interesting. I’m on unit 5 of the Foundation course and am looking to start the PC in September so this is very helpful. I’ve been worrying about the time commitment and also my ability to take in and retain all of the information. I’ll have the benefit of only working two evenings a week by September but I also help my parents a lot as my dad has vascular dementia so I’ve been wondering whether to go down the four or six year pathway. Like you it will be the anatomy and physiology I’ll struggle with - but most of all it will be the chemistry I suspect! I’m really looking forward to your future videos on the course 😎
Thank you so much for this comment! How are you finding it so far? Have you got a favourite/ most eye opening thing you have learnt? I have had a number of people message me about whether to study full time or part time so I will try to make a short about that and how I came to the decision to see if it helps ❤ I’m excited for you!
@@thewisdomwench7908A part time vs full time video would be helpful, thank you. Would you also consider doing a video showing us a few snippets of your monograph? I’m doing Nigella sativa and I’ve started putting bits together but I’m really unsure exactly what is expected of us.
Hi there! so you will get given an extensive reading list but you really don't have to go for all of it. The main Anatomy and phisology textbook is completly free: openstax.org/details/books/anatomy-and-physiology-2e/ and this is a very good book, easy to understand and well laid out. I really like the Herbal formularies for Health Professionals by Dr. Stansbury but they are very expensive to get the full set of 5. I know I'm going to use them forever so I saw them as investment pieces. The Herbal book of Making and Taking is a really good book (and as a sneak peak i'm opening a online store and will be selling it in July 👀) and I would reccomend this to many students. There are lots of different books for different aspects but these cover a lot of it! Recently I bought the Humoral Herbal by Stephen Taylor for personal interest and I'm genuinley really enjoying it!
I’ve signed onto the foundation course, thanks for asking my questions on the previous video it inspired me to just go for it :). How many hours do you reckon you need to put aside to study for the professional? Part time and full time if you know?
Just had a look at the website “the 4 year course will require approximately 21 to 30 hours study a week for 40 weeks a year, and the 6 year course will require approximately 14 to 21 hours a week for 40 weeks a year.” In case anyone is interested :)
Thank you so much! and you have no idea what it means to me that I helped you find a small bit of your path ❤ This comment has actually inspired me to do a ‘week in my life’ kind of study video so you can get a realistic look at how I *try* to balance everything!
