That red one is made for car wrapping. It measures the temperature on the film for post heating to get the memory out from the PVC, and the optimum distance for post heating is when the 2 dots connect. I wrap cars, and I use steinel with wheel temperature control. It's super fast to use, I hate those more expensive ones, which have the buttons for the heat control. Very slow to use, and you have to keep your eye one the screen to know how much heat it's giving. The wheel thing is perfect for changing the temperature. I also have a device which can be plugged to the top of the heat gun for post heating temperature measurement. It has multiple settings for different things. Steinel is THE heatgun for me. I understand your point of view 100% bc you focus on window tinting :)

Makita makes the most durable heat gun in my experience. I'm trying out Milwaukie guns now and they seem pretty tough as well. They make one for $80 that seems like a winner.

I only use Steinel, because here in Germany Steinel is "the" Brand. And the Steinel with the new Heat Control is for Wrapper perfect for post heating. But 500 Dollar for a Gun is crazy.

The disposable guns are exactly that. If you're doing a long job where you're constantly running them and not letting them cool off, they're going to end up in the trash, and you're going to do an emergent run to Harbor Freight for another. However, you're not going to feel bad if they die.

The major cost differences are accurate temperature control and durability. Personally I prefer Bosch or Makita.

What comes at the end of them all is basically the same thing, nice video man, i also lean towards the simple tools, no lasers and sh*t necessary

I would have loved to get info about the two most important specs. the max. temperature and the airflow. Beside the quality these can justify price difference. Good video though.

The $20 Wagner heat guns die after about 6 months of daily use. I stopped using them though because the second one I owned almost caught on fire even though it wasn't turned on.

Man I've time Tinted countless window 15.20 yr ago. I'm trying. To do my big rig pretty much all square ends except the bottom front has lil taper last few inches. Helppppppp

How hot should your tint get? The old ass heat gun I have melts tint in half the time I see these guys on youtube sitting there going super slow over the tint.

While I appreciated your objectivity, I would have liked a bit more on your recommendation(s) based on intended use, e.g., window film, shrink tubing, etc. Even so, thanks for posting.

The $500.00 Heating gun has little slabs of cement inside, so it can feel beefier 😂😂😂 Thanks for the review, but for what most of us need it for, a $50-100 gun is plenty. Again for what most of us, the average person or mechanic need it for.

Different heat guns for different jobs. A good review for tinters but that’s about it

Cheap. Heat gun does not blows correct hot air out as it said. I use Steinel. Film reacts right away. Besides cheap means break fast

it takes skill to run a hair dryer. if you need more heat, take the gun to where heat is needed.

I can justify a 10.00 heat gun over a 500.00 heat gun. does it not need me to hold it, aim it. now that would be the killer app of heat guns.
