I think the circuit layouts of Formula D are much more realistic and attractive... Yes the dice rolls make it kind of random, but with quick play style (limit decision time) it's also full of risks... Just like you, I'm also a fan of Mississippi Queen, especially with the Black Rose expansion!
Hi Hans, thank you for visiting us :) . Yes true about Formula D, it's more of a getaway game compared to this one. OMG yasss Mississippi Queen! Unfortunately I have not played Black Rose yet I dont think, gotta get to that!
Then explain to me how this is the best ranked racing game in BGG at 79 overall. When Formula D is not even close at 636. Heat continues to top their hot charts too. This game is definitely worth to take even a more look at.
Race! Formula 90. Rallyman GT. Snow Tails. Flamme Rouge. And now this. All great games. The most realistic is still Race Formula 90 for me. That game is just something else. More rules but once you understand it all one of the best.
The Italia track looks like it would suit my game style better. I feel I play too cautious around those corners, like Tarrant said, and get stuck a turn (or three) behind. A few corners bunched up together might help.
Steampunk rally is what it reminds me of more than Formula de/D Formula de had dice that were unique to the gear, e.g 11-20 was the 6th gear d20. The fragor Brothers snow sled game snowtails had card play but was a random draw.
