Not time to clean up truck bin until the flapper door wont shut and tools are falling out. Always nice to hear the soft spoken expert technician at work there in the Palmetto state. 😎
Theodore you complain more than my ex-wife😂😂. That pipe looks like the air vent for the plumbing and at least there is some wood for you to access the unit. Most of the attic units I’ve come across here in Ontario don’t have plywood to walk on, your lucky if there is a plank in place to walk across.👍🇨🇦
Hey Ted, using that 5 amp fuse and a little tape to jumper those red wires from the blower switch. That will prevent having to replace the connectors when replacing the board.
no, don't do that. because those are automotive ATC blade type fuses rated 36 volts(by memory) and the red wires are the line voltage and current to the blower motor, probably 240V on that unit, also it may run around 5 amps. now that would work great if it needed 24v wiring jumped together. 🙂
Oh!! My brother I'm 62 years old and getting into those attics are killing me in AZ politicians have destroyed my 401K savings I just want to retire but I can't so I continue climbing into attics to fix problems
hey ted as a technician my self i gotta recommend you get a little giant ladder on your truck asap the are step ladders that can convert into full extension ladders you use the step ladder mode to open the scuttle hole and then you switch it to extension ladder mode and put it in the hole almost like attic steps i refused jumping off stepladders and pulling my self into a scuttle hole long time ago the little giant lets you safely just climb on up
Long time on site, I hate multiple repairs at the same job site. What did they do, wait until enough was broken before paying for a tech to come out? I’m no fan of hoping off a 6’ to get in and out of an attic either. Then to find a big object jammed in a tire, you had a rough day. Time for an adult beverage at home.
Needs a Veto Bag for the Jimmy Wigglers, JK! I agree on the pump, even if it was an add on, if you can run a line set you can run a drain line. That hose sits in those hot attic and get soft and usually hung with staples and the hose sags and then is restricted. I mean you can't get more down hill flow then from an attic! Good ole TRANE TDL. 90-340 will fix that every time..
I used to have giveaways of those Vetos and other stuff… I need to bring the giveaways back…. They were kinda fun !! ru-vid.comESSy-_cv39c?feature=share
Too old to fix ? That unit is a spring chicken...you should look at the dinosaur in my attic :P As the saying goes "They don't build them like they use to"...
Interesting. I may need to watch this one again; seemed enough wrong in different places that it was a little hard to follow. Hopefully the refrigerant leak turns out to be easy to find, and feasible to fix. Was Jimmy Wiggler missing because you ran over his brother? Hopefully he comes out of your tire easily enough.
G'day Ted - long drawn-out trouble shooting exercise on this one - for it to be a low pressure switch - no drawing to use ?? HVAC wiring always reminds me of a teenage boys effort to wire something up - I'm sure you'll take the $'s for the time spent there. Cheers.
👍I’d be called out late at night on a walk in cooler or freezer finding condenser fan motor locked & none on van. Water hose is your best friend spraying condenser in effort to save product until return in morning w/ parts. Good stuff sir Ted. 👍🇺🇸
Condensate pumps in attics are commonplace in my area i never understood why you always complain about it, though you complain about almost everything.
Just seems to me if you’re in an attic you already have a lot of rise or a lot of fall on the drain line whichever way you want to look at it. Gravity drain is very easy to achieve when you’re 10 or more feet off the ground?
